Position Overview The Patient Financial Services Representative plays a critical role in supporting patients throughout their financial journey. This role combines healthcare billing expertise, patient advocacy, and customer service to help patients understand insurance coverage, payment options, and available financial assistance—while ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and regulatory compliance.This is an ideal opportunity for experienced revenue cycle professionals who are passionate about patient experience and thrive in a remote, fast‑paced healthcare environment. Key Responsibilities Serve as the primary point of contact for patients regarding billing inquiries, insurance coverage, payment options, and financial responsibilityResearch and resolve complex billing issues by reviewing account histories and collaborating with internal teamsProcess patient payments and document all interactions accurately in the EMR systemProactively contact patients regarding outstanding balances and negotiate appropriate payment arrangementsMonitor self‑pay accounts and follow up on delinquent balancesIdentify and resolve billing discrepancies that impact patient balances or payment delaysConduct financial assessments and administer internal financial assistance or charity care programsScreen patients for eligibility in government programs (e.g., Medicaid, Medicare) and assist with applicationsCalculate and communicate patient financial responsibility estimates prior to servicesCollaborate with clinical and operational teams to remove financial barriers to careStay current on healthcare billing regulations and payer guidelinesContribute to performance goals related to collections, patient satisfaction, and account resolutionParticipate in process improvement initiatives and remain cross‑trained for revenue cycle support coveragePerform additional duties as assigned Qualifications Associate’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field2+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle billing or patient financial servicesStrong knowledge of medical terminology, billing workflows, and insurance conceptsWorking knowledge of Medicaid and Medicare programsProficiency with healthcare billing systems and Microsoft Office (Excel required)Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirementsExcellent communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive financial discussions professionally and empatheticallyHigh attention to detail with strong organizational and time‑management skillsAbility to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross‑functional teams Work Environment 100% RemoteMust have a quiet, private workspace to maintain HIPAA compliance Compensation Pay Rate: $22.00 – $26.00 per hourOvertime: Paid at 1.5xContract Length: 3 months Benefits (Eligibility Requirements Apply) Medical, dental, and vision coverage401(k) retirement plan (pre‑tax and Roth options)Life insurance and AD&DShort‑ and long‑term disabilityHealth Savings Account (HSA)Employee Assistance Program (EAP)Paid time off and leave options Why This Opportunity Fully remote work with schedule flexibilitySupportive, collaborative team cultureMeaningful, patient‑focused workOpportunity to apply advanced revenue cycle expertiseCompetitive hourly pay and benefits Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Boise, ID.
