Residential Assistant (Part-time)

Residential Assistants may rotate between any of (3) 24-hour transitional housing programs serving Veterans, families, and individuals living with severe behavioral health diagnoses. All residents enrolled in these programs are homeless. A common goal amongst each program is to allow participants the time needed to move towards a better future for themselves and/or their families without the added worry of "where will I sleep tonight?"Shifts NeededMonday-Friday 12am-8amMonday-Friday 4pm-12amSaturday-Sunday 12am-12pmSaturday-Sunday 12pm-12amHolidays (8 or 12-hour coverage)Weekly HoursAverage 24-28 hours/weekMust possess a high school diploma or GED equivalent. Work history in behavioral health preferred, not required.Must possess strong conflict-resolution skills and be able to adjust in an ever-changing environment.Applicant(s) must be professional and firm on boundaries set between staff and residents.Assists clients in identifying strengths, needs, and realistic goalsAccurately identifies risk and responds appropriatelyMaintains professional boundaries and operates within agency /ethical guidelines.Oversee preparation of meals for residents in compliance with set menu.Completes bed checks during nighttime shift; Follow chore lists to ensure that the facility is safe, clean, and orderly.Handle resident complaints while on shift and report resolutions to supervisor.
