Controller
Location: Kern County
Pay:
$120,000-140,000We are seeking an experienced Controller to join a well-established agricultural company in Kern County. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing all accounting operations, financial reporting, and tax functions. Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all accounting operations including general ledger, AP/AR, and payroll
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports
- Oversee tax compliance, filings, and coordination with external tax advisors
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and maintain strong internal controls
- Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and cash flow
- Partner with leadership to support strategic and operational decision-making
- Coordinate audits and serve as primary point of contact for external auditors
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership
- Experience in agriculture or related industry preferred
- Strong understanding of financial reporting, internal controls, and tax oversight
