Title: Microsoft Systems EngineerLocation: Holyoke Area, MA (Hybrid)Employment Type: ContractStatus: Accepting CandidatesAbout the RoleWe are seeking a Microsoft Systems Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance enterprise applications and infrastructure within a Microsoft-centric environment. This role combines application support, systems administration, integration development, and technical troubleshooting across both on-premises and cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Microsoft technologies and a passion for delivering reliable, secure, and scalable solutions.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, maintain, and support integrations between enterprise applications and business systems to improve operational efficiency.Troubleshoot complex application, database, and infrastructure issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective solutions.Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain application enhancements and system improvements.Administer and support Microsoft technologies including Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, .NET Framework, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and Entra ID.Monitor system performance, reliability, and availability while ensuring optimal operation of critical business applications.Identify, assess, and remediate security vulnerabilities in accordance with organizational policies, compliance requirements, and change management procedures.Support both cloud-based and on-premises environments, ensuring seamless integration and system functionality.Collaborate with business users, subject matter experts, vendors, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver effective technology solutions.Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge-sharing materials.Participate in system upgrades, application deployments, maintenance activities, and production support initiatives.Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting expertise, and knowledge transfer to support teams and stakeholders as needed.QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.5+ years of hands-on experience supporting and administering Microsoft-based infrastructure and enterprise applications.Strong experience with Windows Server, SQL Server, IIS, .NET technologies, Microsoft 365, and related Microsoft platforms.Experience managing identity and access services using Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD).Working knowledge of networking concepts, server hosting, application architecture, and enterprise systems environments.Experience supporting hybrid environments, including both on-premises infrastructure and cloud-based Microsoft solutions.Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills for complex application and infrastructure issues.Experience with system integrations, application deployments, upgrades, and production support activities.Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.Microsoft certifications such as Azure Administrator, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, or related credentials are preferred.Compensation (MA Pay Transparency):Estimated hourly range: $55–$65/hr (W-2).Final rate within this range will be based on skills, experience, and interview results.
