The company needs someone who can own inventory and purchasing decisions, negotiate with suppliers (domestic + overseas), manage imports, and make calculated, data-driven buying decisions tied to usage, growth, and warehouse capacity.Scope of ResponsibilityFull responsibility for all raw materials, including:Nuts, seeds, dried fruitsOils, salt, ingredientsPackaging (bags, boxes, etc.)Inventory planning, forecasting, replenishmentSupplier negotiation and relationship managementImport documentation and overseas supplier communicationCommodity and market analysis to inform timing and purchasing strategyWhat “Good” Looks LikeA hands-on buyer who:Is Excel-strong, data-driven, and good with numbersHas negotiated pricing, MOQs, and lead timesUnderstands commodity volatility and buying forward vs spot purchasingHas worked with overseas suppliers and importsCan balance cost, supply risk, usage trends, and warehouse constraintsIdeal Background2–4 years in buying, procurement, inventory planning, or supply chainExperience in food, ingredients, commodities, or CPG manufacturingImport experience + FSVP familiarity preferredERP experience helpful but Excel proficiency is criticalWhat This Is NOTNot an assistant buyerNot purely clerical or PO-onlyNot a remote or hybrid roleReporting ToDirector of Office Operations
