Project Cost Analyst

Therefore, candidates should be in these areas in order to be considered.This role will involve work with forecasts, cost controls, process documentation, risk identification and variance analysis. Responsibilities will include:Developing, monitoring and maintaining engineering and construction project budgets for various sized transmission & distribution projects for public‐owned and investor‐owned electric utilitiesWork with Project Management teams using earned value management techniques to ensure that forecasts and costs are aligned, including the development of recovery plans, to stay within approved limitsShare team utilization metrics and address any utilization concerns with AEP's Center of Excellence (COE) to maintain alignment with project objectives and resource requirements.Partner closely with Engineering Leads and Managers to track and execute client deliverablesDevelop and produce weekly/monthly project control reports for client and internal management review.Interfacing directly with the client and internal management to report progress, schedule and risks across a portfolio of electrical distribution projectsAssist the project manager with the creation and maintenance of comprehensive project dashboard reports and KPI trackingBackground RequirementsBachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management or closely related disciplinesThree (3) or more years of relevant project controls / cost analysis experienceProven knowledge of ECOSYS enterprise project performance softwareRecent and in‐depth expertise in electric power infrastructure projects within transmission, substation and/or distribution designDemonstrated work history of planning, organizing, directing and tracking technical efforts on assigned tasksCapability to track cost and schedule status of assigned tasksStrong writing and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with customer representatives effectivelyProficiency utilizing MS Project suite with a heavy emphasis on MS ExcelPrevious experience working with AEP would be preferred, but not requiredPay Range: $52,000.00 – $94,000.00Commitment to Non‐DiscriminationAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to sex, race, ethnicity, age, national origin, citizenship, religion, physical or mental disability, medical condition, genetic information, pregnancy, family structure, marital status, ancestry, domestic partner status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, veteran or military status, or any other basis prohibited by law.
