Remote Switchboard Operator

To support federal facility operations, the full-time Remote Switchboard Operator will manage incoming calls, route them to appropriate personnel, and provide general information while ensuring professional communication and emergency notification protocols are followed. Key responsibilities Answer a high volume of incoming calls and route them to the correct offices or personnel Operate multi-line VoIP or PBX telephone systems, including transferring and paging functions Maintain accurate logs and records for emergency and security-related calls while ensuring confidentiality Required qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum one year of experience operating a multi-line telephone system or similar communications position Ability to type at least 30 words per minute and navigate software systems while handling calls Familiarity with VoIP, PBX, or similar communication systems preferred Must be a U.S. citizen due to federal security restrictions
