Purpose of the roleTo support the industrialisation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes within a high-technology production environment by developing efficient, scalable, and compliant production solutions. The role is responsible for process design, validation, production readiness, and ongoing process support to ensure manufacturability, quality, throughput, and lifecycle sustainability across opto-mechatronic products and systems.Qualifications And ExperienceMinimum BEng Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or Process Engineering.Relevant experience in mechanical engineering design and analysis within a manufacturing or industrialisation environment.Exposure to manufacturing processes and industrialisation principles.Experience in PFMEA, Control Plans, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), throughput and capacity analysis, and process validation activities to support production readiness and manufacturing optimisation.Exposure to opto-mechatronic systems would be advantageous.Experience in a high-tech, engineering, or defence manufacturing environment would be advantageous.Key Technical SkillsManufacturing process design and industrialisation methodologiesPFMEA, Control Plans, MSA, and throughput analysisDFMAS (Design for Manufacturing, Assembly and Support)Process validation, qualification, and risk mitigationProduction line commissioning and process optimisationTechnical documentation and manufacturing baseline managementCAPEX planning and production readiness supportStrong analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement capabilityKey Responsibilities Industrialisation Planning and Requirements ManagementDevelop and manage industrialisation requirements in collaboration with the Engineering, Operations, and Production teams to ensure production solutions align with operational, technical, and lifecycle objectives. Process Design and DevelopmentDesign and optimise manufacturing processes, process flow diagrams, PFMEA structures, and control methodologies within industrialisation activities to ensure manufacturable, efficient, and quality-driven production solutions. Production Readiness and ImplementationSupport the implementation, commissioning, and release of production lines, tooling, jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing documentation during pre-production and industrialisation phases to ensure operational readiness and stable production capability. Process Validation and Risk ManagementValidate manufacturing processes, throughput capability, control plans, and measurement systems during pre-production activities to identify, mitigate, and reduce process and producibility risks.
