Business and Financial Analyst - MARAD

We leverage industry best practices and business innovations to provide measurable results. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business and Financial Analyst. In this role you will be responsible for providing comprehensive business analysis services for the National Defense Reserve Force (NDRF) Ready Reserve Fleet (RRF) missions. This includes cost analysis, performance analysis, and management/stakeholder briefings. The role requires updating processes and procedures documentation related to business practices in compliance with Federal Plain Language Guidelines. Key Responsibilities: Data Collection & Analysis: Collect and analyze cost and performance data related to RRF mission operations. Conduct trend analysis and provide actionable insights. Utilize data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present data findings effectively. Implement statistical analysis techniques to interpret complex datasets Financial Management: Enter data and perform queries from various financial databases. Monitor and ensure proper use of funds issued. Review, analyze, and reconcile financial reports with execution documents. Interface with stakeholders to calculate reimbursable costs for mission requirements. Use financial management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle Financials) for budgeting and forecasting. Reporting: Prepare bi-weekly mission funds execution reports and post-mission funds reports. Develop mission funds and performance reports for interagency partners. Create ad-hoc reports as directed. Automate reporting processes using tools like VBA in Excel or scripting languages (e.g., Python). Documentation & Process Improvement: Facilitate meetings to update mission funds control management processes and procedures. Prepare and publish procedural guides and provide technical writing support for documentation updates. Conduct process mapping and re-engineering to enhance efficiency. Ensure compliance with Federal Plain Language Guidelines in all documentation. Meeting Facilitation: Conduct meetings related to mission cost and performance, including preparation of agendas, minutes, and action items. Use collaboration tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Zoom) for virtual meetings. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to gather input and feedback. Qualifications: Skills and Experience: Familiarity with Government budget cycles and Federal financial management Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven experience in business analysis, financial management, or a related field. Experience with project management tools (e.g., Microsoft Project) Knowledge of compliance standards and regulations in government contracting. Minimum six years of relevant experience Education & Certifications: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
