We provide end-to-end medical transportation as well as fire services, integrated healthcare solutions and disaster response.Job SummaryCoordinates activities of personnel at assigned base and collaborates with the Aviation, Maintenance and Membership Departments. Essential functions include administrating the financial, marketing, growth and business aspects for the assigned base.AdministrativeJOB DUTIESCoordinates the daily base activities of the Flight Nurse and Flight Paramedics by stopping by the base a minimum of three times a week, exceptions will include PM's with multiple bases or business related activities which preclude the visits.Collaborates with Base Pilot Supervisor for pilot activitiesAssures proper coverage for all medical shiftsSecures replacement staff for all work absencesReviews electronic payroll of medical crew for accuracy and submits for approval before the stated deadlineReceives medically related flight problems or issues from medical crews, aviation staff, communications center staff, customers and patients. Resolves medically related problems or issues as they occur with feedback to appropriate persons or refers the issue to the appropriate person for resolutionRecommends and implements changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of medical staff and base performanceAssures proper use, maintenance, and repair of medical equipment and suppliesParticipates in the evaluation of new equipment/supplies and oversees inventory and suppliesOversees the base spending, remains within budget for the base and submits the required reports as defined by policyResponsible for the maintenance and organization of facilitiesConducts in conjunction with the Safety Officer monthly staff meetings at assigned base to include preparing an agenda, typing minutes and assuring delivery of minutes to all crew members and safety departmentEnsures crew members follow policy for work related injuries and exposuresSubmits detailed reports to the SPD and RDBO, as requested.Collaborates with the appropriate Educator and Medical Director to resolve any deficienciesCollaborates with the Communications Supervisor and the RDBO on Communications Center issuesReviews monthly CQI reports refers those with deficiencies to appropriate Educator, Medical Director or Director of Clinical Care ServicesStaff SupervisionDelegates assignments and holds employees accountable for work completionDevelops individuals medical crew members talents by promoting professional growth, education, involvement, and decision makingAccountable for medical crew licensure, certifications, and clinical requirementsEnsures the required credentials are submitted by the base staff to thecorporate office and a copy is kept at the baseCollaborates with Base Clinical Lead (BCL) to ensure assigned staff has the required OSHA training and TB testing to meet corporate and government complianceEnsures narcotic counts are completed per policy; all staff document narcotic use per policy; and reports any discrepancies immediately to the SPD, RDBO and HR.Interviews and hires candidates for Flight Nurse and Flight Paramedic positions at the assigned baseAssists new employees with completion of the orientation process. Monitors new employee performance by assigning a preceptor and working closely with the BCL to ensure successful transition into the position, throughout the orientation process.Prepares annual employee evaluations for assigned medical staffCarries out disciplinary action with input from the SPD, RDBO and Human ResourcesResource for the dissemination of new information and problem resolution for the medical staffCarries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable lawsDepartmental CollaborationParticipates in the interview process for the selection of pilots and mechanics to be assigned to the base as requestedCollaborates with the Base Pilot Supervisor and Base Mechanic to ensure the highest level of aircraft reliability and seeks assistance from the SPD and/or RDBO as neededCollaborates with the Base Mechanic when scheduling maintenance to minimize out of service (OOS) time.Collaborates with the Base Pilot Supervisor and Base Mechanic for issues involving aviation or maintenance personnelCollaborates with the Base Pilot Supervisor on the inventory and maintenance of flight helmets assigned to the baseMarketing And Business DevelopmentIdentifies and establishes strong business relationships with all customers within the assigned areaCoordinates customer relations/marketing activities for the base staffEnsures that relationship building activities occur with each customer through personal visits from the Program ManagerOrders marketing supplies per company policy within approved budget and ensures appropriate use of these suppliesProvides approval for all PR activities involving use of the base aircraftAttends local and regional EMS/Hospital/advisory group meetingsOther essential functions as assignedQualificationsEducation/Experience:High school diploma or equivalentCollege degree preferredTwo years of leadership experience preferredMust have a valid Driver’s LicenseSkillsThe knowledge, skills and abilities described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
