Material Handler (Night Shift) – Temp-to-Hire
Schedule
Day Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Schedule Type: Pitman Schedule (12-hour rotating shifts)
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday
Week 2: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday
Every other weekend off
Position Overview
We are seeking dependable Material Handlers to support operations at a customer facility. This is not a landfill position. The role involves forklift operation, recycling processes, material handling, and general labor in a fast-paced industrial environment.
This is a temp-to-hire opportunity, with the potential to become a full-time Waste Management employee within 60–90 days based on attendance, performance, and business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Operate forklifts (training and certification provided onsite)
Load and unload materials, including tires, into trailers and dumpsters
Sort, handle, and bale recyclable materials
Move materials manually and with equipment
Maintain accurate documentation of completed work
Follow all safety procedures and supervisor instructions
Work closely with project managers and site personnel
Requirements
Required PPE:
Steel-toe boots
Gloves
High-visibility vest
Safety glasses
Additional Requirements:
Valid state-issued ID
Ability to lift 25–50 pounds regularly
Comfortable working in an industrial environment
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts
Must be at least 18 years old
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
Preferred Qualifications
Previous forklift experience (training provided if needed)
High school diploma or GED preferred
Strong work ethic and reliability
