This role oversees daily HR operations, supervises domestic and international support staff, and ensures compliance with all applicable federal and state employment regulations.The Director of Human Resources reports directly to the Controller and/or Chief Financial Officer and serves as a key operational leader supporting company growth, employee engagement, and workforce compliance.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesHuman Resources LeadershipDirect and oversee all HR operations and employee administration functions.Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and best practices.Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.Serve as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters and HR guidance.Support management with employee performance, disciplinary actions, coaching, and documentation.Maintain confidentiality of all employee and company information.Benefits AdministrationManage ongoing 90-day eligibility identification and enrollment processes for:Medical insuranceDental insuranceVision insuranceCoordinate benefit enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and employee communications.Work with insurance brokers and benefit providers to resolve employee issues and ensure accurate deductions and reporting.Conduct periodic audits of benefit eligibility and payroll deductions.Payroll AdministrationOversee payroll operations utilizing ADP Workforce Now.Supervise payroll processing for a workforce of approximately 500 employees.Ensure timely and accurate payroll processing, including:Wages and commissionsBonuses and incentive compensationPayroll deductionsGarnishmentsPTO trackingSupervise payroll support personnel, including two part-time payroll support accountants located in the Philippines.Review payroll reports, reconciliations, and payroll tax filings for accuracy.Onboarding and OffboardingDirect all onboarding and offboarding processes company-wide.Supervise two onboarding/offboarding specialists, including one remote employee located in Colombia.Ensure all new hire documentation, background checks, I-9 verification, and employee setup processes are completed accurately and timely.Manage employee separations, exit procedures, final pay compliance, and offboarding documentation.Maintain personnel records and HRIS data integrity.Compliance and Tax AdministrationEnsure unemployment taxes and applicable payroll tax filings are properly maintained and submitted in all applicable states, including Florida and South Carolina.Coordinate W-2 preparation and year-end payroll reporting.Maintain compliance with:FLSAEEOCOSHAACAHIPAAState labor lawsAssist with audits related to payroll, HR, benefits, and workers’ compensation.HR Systems and ReportingMaintain and optimize ADP Workforce Now functionality and employee data accuracy.Generate and analyze HR and payroll reports for management.Monitor workforce metrics including turnover, staffing levels, and benefits participation.Recommend process improvements and automation opportunities.Recruiting and Workforce SupportAssist management with recruiting coordination and workforce planning.Support hiring managers with job postings, candidate tracking, and employment documentation.Help maintain employee handbook policies and training documentation.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position directly supervises:Two onboarding/offboarding specialistsOne payroll administratorTwo part-time payroll support accountants located in the PhilippinesTwo recruiting personnelQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred.Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR and payroll management experience.Strong working knowledge of ADP Workforce Now required.Experience managing multi-state payroll and HR compliance.Knowledge of payroll tax filings, unemployment taxes, and W-2 reporting.Experience supervising remote and international support personnel preferred.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion.Preferred SkillsExperience in high-volume workforce environments.Strong knowledge of ADP Workforce Now, eVerify and reporting tools.Understanding of sales compensation and commission payroll structures.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and process management.Work EnvironmentOffice-based with regular interaction with management and remote personnel.Ability to manage deadlines and handle confidential employee matters professionally.Compensation and BenefitsCompetitive salary based on experienceHealth, dental, and vision benefits availablePaid time off and holidaysOpportunity for advancement within a growing organization
