Senior Embedded Test EngineerWe are seeking a Senior Embedded Test Engineer to design, develop, and execute test strategies for embedded firmware and systems used in coherent optical communication platforms. In this role, you will work closely with firmware, DSP, hardware, and system teams to validate functionality, performance, and reliability across pre-silicon and post-silicon environments.This position is ideal for an engineer with 3–5 years of experience in embedded/system testing who has exposure to coherent optical systems or high-speed communication platforms, and who can take ownership of test frameworks while contributing hands-on to debugging and validation.Locations Available: Córdoba, Argentina – Irvine, CAKey ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, and maintain a scalable automated test framework to validate embedded firmware and systemsIntegrate the test framework with multiple pre silicon and post silicon validation platforms, including simulation, emulation, FPGA, and hardware lab environmentsReview internal and external requirements and translate them into comprehensive test plans, test cases, and coverage strategiesOwn daily testing and regression testing, including scheduling, execution, and monitoring of test runsAutomate test execution and result collection, including:Capturing results in databasesGenerating automated test reports, metrics, and statisticsDesign, create, and maintain Jenkins pipelines for firmware build, upgrade, test execution, and regression workflowsPerform initial triage and root cause analysis for failures observed during testing and issues reported by customersCollaborate closely with firmware, DSP, hardware, systems, and customer-facing teams to drive issue resolutionSupport system level validation of optical traffic scenarios, configurations, and stress conditionsEnsure test infrastructure follows best practices for reliability, maintainability, and scalabilityRequired QualificationsBachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.3–5 years of experience in embedded, system, or firmware test engineeringStrong Python programming experience, including: Design of object-oriented test frameworks Python libraries such as pytest, NumPy, Pandas, PyMongo, Matplotlib, ...Experience designing and maintaining test automation frameworks and regression systemsGood Linux knowledge, including scripting, debugging, and system interactionExperience creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, preferably using JenkinsFamiliarity with coherent optical systems and understanding of different traffic configurations and test scenariosStrong debugging and analytical skills, with the ability to perform first level screening and triage of customer reported issuesHigh attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and structured problem-solving approachPreferred QualificationsExperience working in coherent optical systems, silicon photonicsC/C++ experience, especially for understanding and debugging embedded firmwareExperience working with lab equipment, including: Optical Network Testers (ONT) such as VIAVI Variable Optical Attenuators (VOAs) Optical Protection Switch Modules (OPSMs) Related optical and electrical lab devicesFamiliarity or experience with common hardware interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO)Salary Range for US $150,000 - $250,000 Base Annually The final offer will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, and location.
