Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThe Painter is responsible for applying paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structures.Position Responsibilities - EssentialApplies paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings and other structuresPrepares surfaces for paintingPrepares all facilities, furniture, and equipment for paintingSets up ladders to perform tasks above ground levelRelies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job Participate in plant shift meeting and continuous improvement activitiesExecution of all duties with a safety-first mindset and approachEnsure all safety procedures, practices, and regulations are followed before, during, and after the process to foster a positive safety culture by having a safety-first mindset and approach during execution of activitiesBased on the nature of the essential functions associated with this role, GreenWood has designated this as a “safety-sensitive” position. Position Responsibilities - Non-Essential/OtherConducts process inspection, certification, and documentationOther duties and special projects as assignedEssential Skills And ExperienceHigh School diploma or GED equivalentOne year experience in related field with knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and proceduresAbility to meet minimum vision requirements for operation of a powered industrial vehicle with or without corrective lensesAbility to work in a fast paced, high volume and automated environment, and have a strong attention to detailAbility to work in a manufacturing or distribution center environment where seasonal temperatures may be extreme at times including excessive heat or coldAbility to learn new skills and apply the new skills to daily work tasksBasic Computer skillsAbility to work from various heights Ability to be certified to operate powered lift equipment(ariel lift, scissor lift, etc.)Excellent attention to detail and sense of urgencyAbility to prioritize and perform repetitive tasks with focus on quantity and qualityAbility to multi-task in a fast paced environmentDemonstrates a high level of customer service and strong communication (both listening and speaking) and interpersonal skills Experience demonstrating successful support of a positive safety cultureAbility to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation(s)Beneficial Skills And ExperienceCompleted an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty preferredExperience in facilities painting preferredGreater than one year experience in related field preferredExtensive knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within related field preferredCompany DescriptionWe are a customer-focused, integrated maintenance company operating projects throughout the Southeast and Mid-Atlantic states.
