Cabinet Installer
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Cabinet Installer to join our team. The Cabinet Installer plays a critical role in delivering a high-quality finished product by ensuring all cabinetry designed and manufactured by Hollingshead Cabinet is installed accurately, securely, and professionally. This position requires strong technical skills, precision, and the ability to work independently and in customer-facing environments while maintaining strict quality and safety standards. Key Responsibilities:Install all cabinetry designed and manufactured by Hollingshead Cabinetry in residential and commercial settings.Lay out each job site prior to installation to verify cabinetry will fit properly within the designed spaces.Read and interpret printed layouts, drawings, and specifications to ensure accurate placement and alignment.Immediately notify the Hollingshead Cabinet Project Manager (PM) of any damaged cabinetry discovered during shipment or installation.Notify the PM immediately if discrepancies exist between the floor layout and the designed layout so the designer can be dispatched to the site.Notify the PM of any major repairs required to complete the installation; document all issues on printed layouts and return them to Hollingshead Cabinet.Locate and mark wall studs prior to installation to ensure all cabinetry is properly secured.Secure cabinetry to studs using 3" long screws and ensure all mounting screws are pre-drilled to prevent wood splitting.Ensure all upper and lower cabinetry is level and plumb through proper shimming techniques.Confirm that water lines, drains, and electrical components are not covered or obstructed during installation.Accurately measure and cut cabinetry for plumbing and electrical penetrations, ensuring smooth cuts and alignment within 1/8" of centerlines.Ensure all adjoining face frames are properly aligned before fastening together with side screws.Align cabinet doors to ensure level positioning and consistent gaps, particularly on double-door cabinetry.Install all quoted crown molding, crack molding, and shoe molding as specified in the job scope.Fill all nail holes in trim using the appropriate color wood filler, sand smooth, and apply touch-up paint as needed.Use the correct color caulking to eliminate visible gaps and ensure a finished appearance.Cover all exposed mounting screws with appropriate color fast caps provided by Hollingshead Cabinet.Secure refrigerator and dishwasher end panels to the floor using Tapcons or equivalent fastening systems.Ensure refrigerator openings are square and parallel before securing legs to the floor.Scribe countertops, benches, desks, or panels as needed to ensure a tight fit between walls.Install adjustable shelving evenly and in the proper designated cabinets.Remove any trim required to complete cabinet installation, using proper techniques to avoid damage.Pre-cut painted trim with a razor knife prior to removal to prevent paint or drywall damage.Maintain a clean, organized, and respectful work environment at all job sites.Notify the Project Manager when the installation is fully completed.Communicate professionally with customers and team members, maintaining a courteous and positive demeanor at all times.Wear proper attire during installations; clothing with obscenities or unprofessional messaging is prohibited.Maintain punctual and reliable attendance, remaining flexible with working hours and overtime as requested.Refrain from electronic device use during work hours unless in an emergency. Requirements:Valid Tennessee driver's license.Reliable transportation to and from work and job sites.Strong understanding of cabinetry installation methods and construction practices.Ability to perform basic math calculations and accurately work with fractional measurements.Knowledge of safety practices for hand and power tools in shop and job-site environments.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.Commitment to maintaining a drug-free workplace with zero tolerance for controlled substances.Sub-contracted Cabinet Installers must provide their own tools and equipment; Hollingshead Cabinet will not supply tools for subcontractors.Responsible for ensuring all installed cabinetry meets Hollingshead Cabinet's quality standards and customer expectations.Commitment to professionalism and respectful conduct; Hollingshead Cabinet is a Christian family business, and non-professional behavior on job sites may result in immediate termination or disciplinary action.
