Maintenance Worker
Position Title Maintenance Worker Division Facilities Management & Construction(DIV) Department Facilities & Grounds Job Description
This position is responsible to perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, and/or the various structures of the College in repair.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Perform various maintenance projects which may include electrical, heating, HVAC, carpentry, painting, masonry, floor repair, and roof repair.
Maintain door and window hardware.
Perform general construction.
Perform equipment repairs.
Initiate the ordering of parts.
Initiate work orders.
Responsible for preventive maintenance of all facilities equipment.
Complete work orders, and return them to the appropriate location in the Facilities Department.
Perform interior maintenance work when priorities warrant or when grounds maintenance must be canceled due to adverse weather conditions.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS
Responsible for snow/ice removal
Set up and break down (apparatus remove) necessary equipment for special events.
Maintain a neat and orderly work environment.
Maintain up-to-date professional credentials, best practices and current disciplines including continued educational requirements through certifications, seminars, training programs, etc.
Maintain and develop work-related knowledge, skills, and competencies related to the job through professional and cross-training opportunities.
Attend all required meetings and training.
Perform additional grade-level support duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Basic knowledge of general carpentry, masonry, electrical, plumbing and HVAC.
Basic knowledge of flat roof systems.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills.
Read, comprehend and follow instructions/work orders.
Meticulous record keeping skills.
Ability to consistently provide excellent customer service.
Ability to organize and prioritize work assignments, including managing multiple projects/tasks concurrently and meet varied deadlines.
Respond to unpredictability.
Ability to resolve defined problems/processes; and assist with higher level problem solving.
Required Qualifications
EDUCATION
High school diploma or equivalent required.
EXPERIENCE
Three years of general maintenance and/or construction experience required.
Prior work performance must have met or exceeded appropriate work standards.
LICENSE
Valid driver's license.
CLEARANCES
The successful candidate will be required to obtain/provide the following clearances prior to hire:
PA Child History clearance
PA Criminal Record Check clearance
FBI Federal Criminal History Record clearance

EDUCATION
One-year post-secondary education preferred.

Salary $14.56/hr. Schedule Days/Hours Monday - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Tuesday - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Wednesday - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Thursday - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m., Friday - 7:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
