Overview
GRAMMY-winning chamber orchestra APOLLO’S FIRE seeks a part‑time STAGE MANAGER / CHIEF AUDIO TECHNICIAN to assist with multiple facets of orchestra production in rehearsals and concerts – both locally and on tour. The role involves riser and stage set‑up, lighting, audio, sound‑board operations, and instrument transportation (mostly harpsichord, bass, harp, and chamber organ, not piano).
This is a part‑time position, with required dates listed below. Additional dates will arise. The position may grow over the next two years.

GRAMMY® award-winning ensemble Apollo’s Fire (AF), based in Cleveland, OH, is one of the world’s leading period‑instrument baroque orchestras. Under the direction of Artistic Director Jeannette Sorrell, AF performs about 40 concerts per year at its home series in Northeast Ohio; five concert programs on its satellite series in Chicago; and tours internationally at venues such as Carnegie Hall, the BBC Proms (London), the Royal Theatre of Madrid, the Tanglewood, Ravinia, and Aspen festivals, among others. AF’s extensive educational and outreach programs in Northeast Ohio include school workshops, free family concerts, and Baroque Bistro concerts in restaurants. Job Description
The STAGE MANAGER / CHIEF AUDIO TECHNICIAN reports to the Production Manager and is involved in multiple facets of orchestra production in rehearsals and concerts – primarily local, but also some touring. The work includes riser and stage set‑up, lighting, audio and sound‑board operations, and instrument transportation (mostly harpsichord, bass, harp, and chamber organ, not piano).
Compensation
$25 per hour, plus travel, accommodations and ground provided in Chicago and on any tour dates.
Guaranteed 1,000 hours per season, with the possibility of more.
Qualifications
Previous stage management, stage lighting, and sound experience is strongly preferred.
Some music background (choir, orchestra, or band experience) is an asset.
The ability to carry up to 80 pounds comfortably.
A friendly demeanor and the desire to learn.
Must reside in the greater Cleveland area.
The ability to work flexible hours is a must.
A car and valid driver’s license are required for the position.
