DescriptionMust be based in the Bay Area - This role could be up to 5 days in office some weeks depending on event schedulePosition SummaryWe are seeking a highly experienced Senior Event Center Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-profile event center in the Bay Area. This role is designed for a senior-level events professional who can independently oversee a complex event environment, drive operational excellence, and elevate the quality of service and execution across the space.The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in venue operations, executive events, stakeholder management, and event planning in fast-paced, high-visibility environments. This person will serve as the lead for the event center, acting as a trusted partner to internal stakeholders, guiding junior team members, and ensuring the space operates at a best-in-class level.Key ResponsibilitiesServe as the primary operational lead for the event center and the events hosted within the spaceOversee day-to-day event center management, readiness, and service deliveryLead planning and execution oversight for internal and external events, ensuring a polished and high-quality event experienceManage complex venue logistics, including vendor coordination, catering, security, facilities, and overall event readinessNavigate permitting, approvals, compliance requirements, and external coordination as neededAct as the senior escalation point for event center and event-related issuesProvide strategic guidance on event flow, guest experience, design decisions, and service standardsPartner closely with stakeholders to align on needs, priorities, expectations, and execution plansCoach and elevate junior event managers, helping improve judgment, planning quality, and overall service levelsIdentify workflow gaps and implement stronger operational processes, communication rhythms, and planning standardsDeliver regular executive-style updates highlighting priorities, risks, progress, and support neededEnsure a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to managing ambiguity, changes, and last-minute requestsIdeal Candidate Profile10+ years of experience in event management, event venue leadership, executive events, or complex corporate event environmentsProven experience leading high-touch, high-visibility event operations with minimal oversightStrong background in venue management, complex logistics, and stakeholder-facing event deliveryExperience navigating permitting, venue compliance, external approvals, and operational complexityStrong executive presence with excellent judgment and decision-making skillsAbility to lead through ambiguity in a fast-paced, evolving environmentDemonstrated ability to coach or guide junior team membersExcellent communication skills, both written and verbalService-oriented, collaborative, calm under pressure, and low egoStrong understanding of premium service standards and what constitutes a polished, client-ready event experiencePreferred QualificationsExperience supporting large enterprise organizations or complex corporate event programsExperience managing event centers, executive briefing centers, or premium multi-use venuesFamiliarity with regional venue operations and permitting processesExperience balancing strategic oversight with hands-on operational leadershipAbility to build structure, improve processes, and elevate performance across an existing teamWhy This Role MattersThis role is intended to bring senior leadership, operational rigor, and strategic event judgment to a high-visibility event center environment.
