Panel Builder We are seeking an Electrical Technician to join our Prototype & Build team. This hands-on role is essential in supporting the development, testing, and validation of our energy storage products. You will be responsible for building the electrical test infrastructure needed for evaluating PCBAs, battery cells, modules, and system-level hardware in a safe and reliable manner. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, thrive in a lab environment, and possess experience with control panel wiring, harness fabrication, and PCBA assembly. Responsibilities Assemble and wire industrial control panels in accordance with UL508A standards. Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings. Fabricate complex wire harnesses and cable assemblies to support prototypes, test fixtures, and system integration. Perform crimping, routing, labeling, and continuity verification. Assemble, rework, and repair PCBAs, including through-hole and surface-mount components. Execute fine-pitch SMD hand-soldering, hot-air rework, and inspection using microscopes and rework tools. Support prototype bring-up and troubleshooting alongside electrical engineers. Construct and maintain electrical test fixtures, load boxes, wiring assemblies, and custom hardware used to characterize and validate battery cells, modules, and electronic subsystems. Install instrumentation, sensors, power supplies, data acquisition systems, and safety interlocks as needed. Support test engineers and product engineers in setting up and executing electrical tests. Commission and troubleshoot completed test infrastructure systems and confirm initial mechanical functionality, including validation using associated sensor readings, in collaboration with the commissioning and engineering teams. Document findings and testing metrics for performance traceability. Offer recommendations for keeping documentation up to date. Essential Skills 3+ years of hands-on experience as an engineering technician, electrical technician, panel builder, or similar role. Strong proficiency in electrical wiring, cable harness fabrication, and panel assembly. Demonstrated skill in soldering (SMD and through-hole), PCBA assembly. Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, panel layouts, and mechanical drawings. Familiarity with standard electrical tools, test equipment, and safety practices (DMMs, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.). Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with industrial control panels or UL508A-compliant builds. Troubleshooting and bug reporting skills. Job Type & Location: This is a Contract position based out of Berkeley, CA. Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $48.00/hr.
