Hotel Assistant General Manager

As an Assistant General Manager (AGM) for Holiday Inn Express & Suites by IHG Hotels & Resorts in Lima, OH you'll have the opportunity to apply what you know, strengthen your leadership skills, and much more. The AGM will support the General Manager in overseeing day-to-day hotel operations and ensure that guests have a memorable experience while maintaining operational efficiency. The AGM will also stand in for the General Manager when the General Manager is not on site. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, and a proven track record in hospitality management. This leadership pathway will allow you to be a preferred candidate for future General Manager opportunities within the company. As an Assistant General Manager you will be involved in: Operational Management: Assist in the overall management of the hotel, including front desk, housekeeping, maintenance, and guest services. Ensure smooth and efficient operations at all times. Guest Relations: Provide excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns, resolving issues, and ensuring guests have a positive experience. Act as the main point of contact for guest feedback and complaints. Staff Supervision: Supervise, train, and motivate staff members. Ensure that all team members follow brand standards, adhere to safety protocols, and deliver exceptional guest service. Assist the General Manager in building the schedule. Revenue Management: Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting. Help monitor and analyze hotel revenue performance and support efforts to maximize profitability. Sales & Marketing: Support the General Manager in driving sales initiatives and managing promotional strategies to attract new and repeat business. Maintain relationships with local businesses, organizations, and event planners. Compliance & Safety: Ensure all health and safety regulations are followed, and that the hotel complies with local, state, and federal laws. Oversee the property's cleanliness and upkeep. Problem-Solving & Decision Making: Handle day-to-day operational challenges by finding effective solutions and making sound decisions in a timely manner. Training & Development: Assist in the development of staff through training, coaching, and performance evaluations to promote growth and efficiency within the team. Qualifications: Minimum 2 years of previous experience in hotel operations or as an Assistant General Manager in the hospitality industry. IHG experience preferred, but not required. Experience with PEP and/or Hotel Key Property Management System Experience preferred. Able to handle customer complaints with professionalism and empathy. Able to focus on the big picture as well as individual results. Strong leadership, organizational, and time management skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work well with a team. Able to develop an understanding of concepts, practices, and pre-established guidelines and procedures. Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays. A passion for guest service, with a focus on creating a welcoming and positive environment.
