This role sits at the intersection of frontend engineering, product design, AI tooling, and complex enterprise workflows.You'll work on real-time AI companion experiences, WebRTC-powered interfaces, generative dashboards, agentic chat, context graph visualisation, and new UI patterns built around generative AI.This is a hands-on role for someone who is an engineer first, but has exceptional product and design taste. You should care deeply about frontend architecture, performance, polish, and speed and be excited by the idea of using AI tools to ship faster and better.What You'll OwnArchitect and ship scalable frontend systems using React, Next.js, TypeScript and TailwindBuild reusable component systems, frontend patterns and high-quality user-facing product experiencesOwn features end-to-end from frontend implementation through API integration and production polishBuild AI-native interfaces including companion agents, generative dashboards and agentic chat workflowsWork on complex frontend problems involving real-time interactions, performance, WebRTC and enterprise-scale UXUse AI tools to rapidly prototype and ship product experiencesPartner closely with product, design, engineering, sales and customers to shape what gets builtHelp define how frontend SDLC evolves in an AI-native engineering teamMust-Haves6+ years of experience shipping production-grade software productsSenior or Staff-level frontend engineering experienceStrong React, Next.js, TypeScript and Tailwind experienceDeep understanding of modern frontend architecture, performance, state management, API integration and component designStrong product/design taste, able to critique visual hierarchy, spacing, UX flow and interaction qualityExperience building polished, user-facing product experiences, not just internal tools or static websitesDaily or serious hands-on use of AI development tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, v0.dev, Lovable or similarAbility to explain how your AI-assisted development workflow has changed recentlyHigh agency and comfort operating without detailed specs or heavy handholdingEvidence of fast shipping in a startup, founding engineer, founder, or high-ownership product environmentComfortable speaking directly with customers, sales, product and design teamsBased in San Francisco or willing to relocate immediatelyComfortable working in-person 5 days/week in downtown San FranciscoGood-to-HavesFounder, co-founder or founding engineer experienceExperience at an AI-native, product-led or high-growth startupExperience building generative UI, agentic workflows, AI chat interfaces or AI-powered dashboardsWebRTC, real-time streaming, video, screen capture or companion-agent product experienceVoice AI product experienceExperience with complex data visualisation, graph visualisation or enterprise workflow productsStrong portfolio, GitHub, demos, screenshots or shipped-product examplesExperience building design systems or reusable frontend infrastructurePython/backend comfort for occasional cross-stack workExperience with security-sensitive product areas such as auth, permissions, PII or enterprise complianceWho This Role Is Perfect ForThis role is ideal for someone who wants to build at the frontier of AI-native software.
