Systems and Validation Lead/Manager

Omni Design is working on exciting solutions and chips for next generation automotive and space applications and looking for talented and capable engineers.The Systems Engineering Manager will be responsible for validation and qualification of electrical interfaces and/or performing standards-based protocol tests.Role and ResponsibilityWork with a team of validation and characterization engineers responsible for product qualificationWork across multiple functional groups to meet overall product design and quality requirementsDesign characterization test, system-level test, and demonstration systems that include MCUs, discreet logic, FPGA, multi-gigabit, and analog circuitry, including requirements gathering, specification, schematic, layout, and mechanicalWork with company buyers to produce designsReview schematics/layout of internal and customer system platforms as per product requirementsEngage with potential customers and partners to identify custom requirements and incorporate those requirements into the system test processCreate/edit test plans based on system specifications that may relate to signal integrity, RF, mechanical integrity, electrical, and requirements based on generic protocolsExecute and stand behind the qualification of the product, from a mass production perspective, in consumer electronic devicesMentor systems and validation team membersQualifications And ExperienceBSEE Required, MSEE Preferred8+ years of systems hardware development and debug experience, including for digital, multi-gigabit, and high frequency, low noise analog interfacesDeep knowledge of signal integrity and power integrity design practicesKnowledge of at least 2 of electrical interfaces for any of the high-speed protocols: USB3+; PCIe 2/3; ThunderBolt, DisplayPort; HDMI; SATA/SAS, Ethernet, LPDDR4/5, GMSLKnowledge of inter-chip protocols, such as UART, I2C, I3C, SPI, I2S, PWMKnowledge of microcontroller and FPGA development and development environmentsFamiliarity with VerilogSoftware development and debugging experience in C, C++, and Python and other scripting languagesAbility to develop test scripts that control test equipment for determining IC device characteristicsFamiliarity with test equipment, including oscilloscope, sampling scope, BERT (including CDR), protocol analyzer, spectrum analyzer, VNA, TDR, and other basic equipmentUnderstanding of mechanical and thermal conceptsExtensive protocol testing experience with any of the above protocols including a good understanding of the required test infrastructureExperience in creating and simulating models of wired links and being able to make appropriate tradeoffsTeam player with interest in filing up gaps in product development, as neededExpectationsDevelop the Validation, Characterization boardsSet up and Manage the lab and its equipmentDo the pre-silicon emulation on the FPGA PlatformDo the Silicon Valtion and CharacterizationDo the ATE Vs System CorrelationsDevelop automated scripts for doing bench testing of parts for early customer samplesWork on the Data SheetsDevelop the Evaluation platforms and support early customersHelp debug the chipBe a mentor and lead a team of System engineersWork with Design, Verification and Test/Product engineering teams and release chips to productionWe may use artificial intelligence (AI) tools to support parts of the hiring process, such as reviewing applications, analyzing resumes, or assessing responses.
