Collaboration with the CTO and Head of Data is essential to ensure that the architecture aligns with business and data strategies. The role also involves building and mentoring a high-performing development team, setting engineering standards, and delivering high-impact tools that enhance investment research and decision-making. Applicants for the Head of Development position at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of hands-on engineering experience, with a recent focus on production systems. A background in Risk Technology, particularly in areas such as exposure management and scenario analysis, is a mandatory requirement. The role demands deep expertise in Python and microservices architecture, as well as a proven track record in building and deploying AWS-native systems. Strong architectural thinking, experience in leading small, high-impact teams, and a player-coach mentality are also key qualifications. The ideal candidate will have a high standard of coding, be fluent in CI/CD, testing frameworks, and monitoring tools, and possess strong communication skills to engage with business and investment stakeholders.
