Technical Editor

Technical Editing and Review: Provide thorough technical editing and review of technical and regulatory documents. Proficiency in vocabulary/grammar, sentence structure, and paragraph alignment. Ensure proper use of acronyms, accurate referencing, and correct sequencing and callouts of tables and figures. Maintain consistent formatting and make basic grammatical changes. Document Development: Generate program support documents and presentation materials. Utilize templates, protocols, and standards outlined in the SRS Regulatory Document Handbook for the creation and review of regulatory and technical primary and secondary documents. Required Qualifications: Education: Possess a 2-year Associate Degree with at least five (5) years of practical experience. OR High School Diploma with a substantial 15 years of practical experience, which is considered equivalent. OR A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a technical field is preferred. Experience/Skills: Demonstrated knowledge of technical editing and review of technical and regulatory documents. Proficiency with various document development software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Products). Experience in developing business support documents and presentation materials. Familiarity with regulatory document templates. Understanding of both internal and external customer expectations. Ability to compile data from multiple sources into well-structured documents. Knowledge of DOE operating policies, rules, and regulations. Education (3 Qualification Records): Hold a 2-year Associate degree and 5 years of practical experience.OR High School Diploma and 15 years of practical experience (equivalent). Preferred: A 4-year Bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Ability to obtain and maintain a DOE Uncleared Security Clearance. Experience/Skills (12 Qualification Records): Reference check to evaluate performance capability may occur. Demonstrated knowledge of technical editing and review of technical and regulatory documents. Proficiency with multiple document software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Products) Programs. Experience in developing business support documents and presentation material. Background and understanding of regulatory document templates. Understanding of both internal and external customer expectations. Ability to compile data from multiple sources into a well-structured document.
