We are seeking an enthusiastic and collaborative Instructional Support Leader to help us build on our momentum across all content areas.Position SummaryThe Academic Interventionist will support students in grades 68 by providing targeted intervention services in both mathematics and reading. Working collaboratively with classroom teachers, special education staff, school counselors, and administrators, the interventionist will identify students in need of additional academic support and deliver evidence-based interventions designed to improve student achievement, confidence, and overall academic growth.This position plays a critical role in helping students close learning gaps, strengthen foundational literacy and numeracy skills, and access grade-level curriculum successfully. The Academic Interventionist will utilize student performance data, progress monitoring tools, and district assessments to inform instruction, track student growth, and adjust interventions as needed.The successful candidate will demonstrate strong instructional practices, the ability to build positive relationships with students, and a commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive, and student-centered learning environment. Experience with middle school learners and intervention programs aligned to current curriculum initiatives is highly preferred.QualificationsRequiredConnecticut certification in one or more core content areas Minimum of 3 years of successful classroom teaching experience at the middle school levelDemonstrated knowledge of one or more of the following: Illustrative Mathematics/ASSISTments, or BookwormsKnowledge of curricular development and implementationExperience using student data to inform instructional planning and groupingProven ability to build trusting, collaborative relationships with colleagues, students, and familiesStrong communication skills with families to student progressPreferredExperience with SRBI/MTSS frameworks and tiered intervention practicesExperience with data platformsExperience working as an interventionist or providing small group instructionBroad content knowledge across math and ELA.
