Forensic Anthropologist – Postdoctoral Research Associate (NE)

DescriptionSNA International, a world leader in forensics, biometrics and identity intelligence, is currently looking for a Forensic Anthropologist – Postdoctoral Research Associate.The Forensic Anthropologist – Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct anthropological analysis to assist the Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency (DPAA) in the identification of remains, including those from large, commingled assemblages, of U.S. service members lost during past conflicts and will provide professional, scientific leadership to a team engaged in forensic and biological anthropological studies and investigations. This is a 100% onsite position at the DPAA lab in Omaha, NECritical Work Responsibilities IncludeCorrelate investigative evidence with laboratory findings to achieve identification of casualtiesDemonstrate experience in osteological analysis and a thorough grasp of the methods used to create a biological profilePrepare professional-level reports for submission to higher authorities detailing analytical findingsExhibit strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to adapt communication styles to different audiencesDemonstrate a highly organized, detail-oriented, and precise approach to recording analytical results and findings Minimum Education And Experience RequirementsPh.D. in anthropology, or a related fieldExperience in osteological analysis and creating a biological profileExperience in forensic casework would be beneficial but is not requiredProficient in MS Word, Photoshop, PowerPoint, Excel, FORDISC, and Adobe AcrobatMust pass competency and proficiency tests within 90 days of start datePossess a demonstrated history of research dissemination via conferences and publicationsWork EnvironmentWork closely with other analysts and members of staff in a team environment, and be able to take direction when requiredWork independently with client staff supporting and anticipating client needs and demonstrating problem-solving skillsHave experience performing tasks under tight deadlines and managing shifting prioritiesFollow all client policies and proceduresTravel nationally and internationally, if required (travel anticipated to be approximately 5-10% of time)Complete other duties as assigned that are within the scope of this position descriptionPhysical DemandsSit or stand at computer systems for extended periods of timePossible exposure to noxious odors, hazardous chemicals, poisons, radioisotopes, corrosive reagents, infectious tissue, and X-ray, laser, and ultraviolet raysTo ApplyPlease submit a cover letter along with your CV.
