Metallurgical Testing Technologist

What a day looks likeBased in Novi, Michigan, you’ll join a metallurgical laboratory on a contract running until the beginning of August 2026. You’ll start your day setting up equipment, reviewing test plans, and confirming that all work aligns with the client’s safety standards. From there, you’ll move through hands-on evaluations—shearing, machining, tensile testing, bending—before preparing specimens for metallography and examining microstructures via microscopy. Throughout, you’ll document results and translate technical findings into clear, concise reports.CompensationPay rate: up to $27.00 per hour.Your core responsibilitiesPerform a variety of metallurgical tests, including shearing, machining, tensile, and bend testing.Prepare and analyze samples using metallography techniques and microscopy.Execute tasks efficiently while protecting data integrity and quality of results.Operate laboratory equipment safely and in full compliance with the client’s safety standards.Record outcomes and communicate technical information and conclusions clearly to stakeholders.What you bringComfort working with laboratory equipment and the curiosity to learn new tools and procedures.Ability to follow clearly defined procedures with precision and consistency.Specific experience in the outlined metallurgical evaluations is a plus, but not strictly required.How we workWe value disciplined execution, attention to detail, and a safety-first mindset.
