Night Shift Differential: Additional 10% on top of base pay
Apache Workforce is currently hiring Machine Operators for opportunities in Houston, TX. We are seeking dependable candidates with fabrication and manufacturing experience who can safely operate industrial equipment in a fast-paced production environment.
Position Overview
The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment within the Piping and Structural Fabrication Departments. Equipment may include lathes, milling machines, plasma cutters, laser cutters, grinders, robotic welders, and saws.
Key Responsibilities
Operate manufacturing equipment including:
Plasma cutters
Laser cutters
Lathes
Milling machines
Grinders
Robotic welders
Industrial saws
Operate overhead cranes safely and efficiently
Read and interpret blueprints and product specifications
Monitor machine performance and production quality
Adjust machine settings to ensure accuracy and efficiency
Troubleshoot machinery issues and report malfunctions
Perform routine maintenance and equipment inspections
Maintain raw material inventory and nesting work orders for material efficiency
Keep accurate production and maintenance records
Maintain clean work areas following 5S standards
Follow OSHA regulations and company safety procedures
Participate in safety meetings and training sessions
Perform additional duties assigned by management
Qualifications & Skills
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
Knowledge of machine operation and cutting processes
Ability to accurately measure materials using tape measures, rulers, and calipers
Basic computer skills for documentation and inventory tracking
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Good communication and teamwork skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Vocational training or machine operation certification preferred
Minimum Requirements
Minimum 2 years of fabrication or manufacturing experience
Experience operating industrial manufacturing equipment
Ability to safely lift heavy materials and work in industrial conditions
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift certification
Overhead crane certification
Machine operation certifications
Experience with robotic welding systems
Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work performed in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing/shop environment
Exposure to industrial temperatures and shop conditions
Ability to stand for extended periods up to 10 hours per shift
Frequent walking, bending, twisting, reaching, climbing ladders, and lifting required
Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs
Frequent use of hand-eye coordination and handling tools/equipment
Steel-toe boots, safety glasses, and required PPE must be worn at all times
Ear protection recommended
