Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate a staff to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. The DSP will support individuals in achieving their personal goals, promoting independence, and engaging meaningfully in their community.
M-F, 11am - 6pm shift available
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide direct support to individuals during community outings and skill-building activities.
Assist participants in developing and practicing daily living skills, social skills, and vocational abilities in community settings.
Safely transport individuals to and from community activities.
Promote independence and self-advocacy by encouraging individuals to make choices and take an active role in their communities.
Support individuals in accessing community resources such as libraries, recreational centers, volunteer sites, and educational programs.
Follow individual service plans (ISPs) and document progress on goals and outcomes.
Provide supervision and ensure the health and safety of all individuals during activities and transportation.
Maintain accurate daily records.
Assist the individual in learning and completing job tasks through coaching, task adaptations, self-management strategies, and gradual fading of support.
Provide systematic, personalized teaching based on the individual’s learning needs.
Assist during new jobs, promotions, or changes in duties.
Communicate effectively with team members, families, and supervisors regarding individual needs and progress.
Participate in required trainings, meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required; additional DDA training or certification preferred.
Minimum 18 years of age.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable access to a personal vehicle.
Ability to pass background checks and drug screening.
Experience supporting individuals with disabilities strongly preferred.
Ability to assist individuals with mobility challenges
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and maintaining confidentiality
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals in need of care
Willingness to undergo training in caregiving techniques and individual rights
Must have access to a laptop or tablet for completing internal requirements.
Basic reading and writing skills are required
