Hughes Construction is seeking an experienced Fusion Professional to join our natural gas installation crew. This position requires a highly skilled individual with proven experience in butt fusion of polyethylene (poly) pipe, as well as the ability to perform critical tie-ins, mainline fusion, and service work. This role plays a key part in ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient pipeline installations.Essential Functions & Responsibilities:Perform butt fusion on polyethylene (poly) pipe in accordance with company and industry standardsDemonstrate proficiency in mainline fusion, tie-ins, service line installations, and tapping proceduresAssist with installation, maintenance, and repair of underground natural gas pipelinesPerform physical labor including digging, lifting, carrying, and handling materials, tools, and equipmentOperate fusion equipment and hand tools safely and effectivelyFollow directions from supervisors and communicate clearly with crew membersMaintain strong awareness of safety procedures, especially when working in the red zone around heavy equipmentAssist with site preparation, pipe handling, and overall crew productivityAdapt to different job sites, schedules, and travel requirementsMeet productivity, quality, and safety expectations dailyQualifications: Experience with fusion of poly pipe required Proven experience as a tie-in man with strong mainline fusion capabilities Experience performing service work and tapping preferred High school diploma or equivalent preferred OSHA certification preferredKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong technical knowledge of fusion equipment, tools, and underground utility construction practices Ability to read and follow instructions, job specifications, and safety procedures Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a crew Reliable, dependable, and strong work ethic Ability to solve problems and adapt in fast-paced job site environmentsEmployment Requirements: Valid Drivers License and Reliable Transportation Must have 2 forms of ID for I-9 Ability to pass drug test and background check Willingness to travel and work in different areas as needed Commitment to following all Safety Policies and Procedures Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and perform physical labor Ability to work overtime and extended hours based on workload Must be 18 years of agePhysical Requirements:Ability to lift up to at least 50lbsFrequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and liftingAbility to perform physically demanding work for extended periodsCapability to work in demanding outdoor construction environmentsWork Environment: Outdoor construction job sites in varying weather conditions Exposure to heavy equipment, noise, traffic, and uneven terrain Fast-paced environment requiring constant awareness of surroundings and safety hazardsSchedule/Travel Requirements Full-time position with typical work weeks ranging from 40 to 60 hours Overtime and weekend work may be required based on project needs Travel required depending on job locationCompensation & Benefits:Competitive hourly pay based on experience401(k) with company matchMedical, dental, and vision insurancePaid trainingPaid vacation after 1 yearFMLAPay: Based on ExperienceAdditional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.C.J.
