Systems Engineer

That’s why we’re looking for a Systems Engineer to join our enterprise architecture team. The Systems Engineer is responsible for: The design, implementation, and maintenance of systems infrastructure, server operating systems, and core applications that support enterprise services. Acting as a subject matter expert and internal escalation point for these systems, escalating unresolved problems to the Systems Architect level as necessary. Qualifications for this role include: Being a self-starter who can manage priorities, meet deadlines, and collaborate with other team members across the department A minimum of 3 years’ experience managing, troubleshooting, and maintaining: Storage array and NAS platforms Storage replication technologies Server compute platforms Highly Available Application Clusters VMware vSphere or other scale out hypervisor solution VMware Site Recovery Manager Microsoft Active Directory or Azure Active Directory The ability to implement, secure and optimize server based applications (MS Exchange, IIS, Apache Tomcat), server hardware, operating systems/hypervisors (Windows, VMWare ESXi, Linux) Strong PowerShell administration and scripting skills with the ability to automate service delivery Preferred technical qualifications also include: Security Assertation Markup Language (SAML) design, implementation, and application integration Azure Active Directory or Okta IdP design, implementation, and administration Vast NAS design, implementation, and administration Nimble or other fiber channel SAN design, implementation, and administration Network Routing/Switching (Cisco IOS, NX-OS) knowledge and administration Cisco UCS / UCS X-Series design and implementation SCCM / MEM or other endpoint management platform design and administration Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and hybrid datacenter Cloud-based object storage (S3) Highly available environments with site failover and disaster recovery Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops including high availability and disaster recovery design Pay Range for Candidates in Washington, DC: $114,000 - $170,000 per year The range provided is the minimum and maximum salary that Venable in good faith believes at the time of this posting that it is willing to pay for the advertised position. Exact compensation will be determined based on individual candidate qualifications and location.
