Position Summary: Senior Electrical Test EngineerLocation: Valley Green, PAAmphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, highbandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks,Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help to enable theelectronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMsglobally. Our global headquarters are located in Nashua, NH and we have design,sales and manufacturing locations globally. We are currently seeking a SeniorTest Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Systems business. Cable BackplaneSystems (CBS) develops and manufactures passive copper cable solutions using ourtwin-ax cable and backplane interconnect technologies. The cable assembliesreplace traditional printed circuit boards and are used in AI compute serversracks, director switches and other datacenter applications.The Senior Test Engineer will have a hands-on approach to designing anddeveloping test processes, plans, and methodologies. This is an opportunity tojoin a rapidly expanding and highly talented technical team working for anindustry-leading interconnect company. This team of product and processdevelopment engineers is working on leading edge custom high-speed cable systemsand assemblies. This development team has a key responsibility for helping todrive the growth of the business through the development of innovative productsand efficient processes which effectively address the needs of informationtechnology, communications, and commercial products markets.RESPONSIBILITIES:Global ownership of high-speed test, including, bit error rate test (BERT),optical test, electrical and optical eye diagram, jitter characterization, TDR,VNA, etc.Work closely with Amphenol development engineering, worldwide factories, andcustomers to develop, deploy, and control cable assembly high speed testingResponsible for engineering verification test (EVT) and design verificationtest (DVT) planning; generate and execute EVT and DVT plans; generate andpublish EVT and DVT reportsWork closely with hardware engineer and firmware engineer on productperformance and firmware validationHigh Speed test system development - develop next generation testingsolutions that support our product roadmap requirementsRequires 'voice of the customer' work to understand the test requirementsfrom a product design and customer application point of viewThe scope of work would include test equipment selection, close involvementwith software development, system integration and documentation; software andGUI may or may not be developed in houseProvide mentorship and guidance to test technician(s) and peersSite support - Amphenol has factories in North America and Asia thatrequire support; travel to these factories to support installation, training,and troubleshooting is a job requirementSupport customer reporting requirements: develop standard reports and meetto review the information with customersWork closely with internal product design/development andprocess/manufacturing engineering teams to convey customer's requirements and toinsure DFT and DFMA during design/development processLead process, design, and supplier improvement efforts to optimize SIperformance for cable assembliesDiagnose failures; perform failure analysis and corrective actions ofinternal and customer test failures - including correlation analysis of customerfindings to internal test data, it also includes working with mechanical andsignal integrity test labs to facilitate failure analysisQUALIFICATIONS:Engineering degree required; BS or MS in Electrical Engineering preferred7+ years of experience working in Electrical Engineering or related field(e.g. RF / Antenna test)Experience with various high speed testing equipment (e.g. TDR, VNA/ENA)In-depth understanding of signal integrity a plusExperience working closely with product design and process development teamsin a collaborative effort to design and deploy test programsStrong customer-facing and relationship building skills; track record ofsuccessfully collaborating with customers and suppliersWorking knowledge of various test software platformsADDITIONAL:Effective communication skills across geographically dispersed andculturally diverse groups, both internal and external: USA, Canada, Mexico,ChinaSelf-initiated test engineer with an entrepreneurial attitudeHands-on, "roll up your shirt sleeves" approach to test engineeringComfortable working in an environment that fosters accountability andflexibilityAbility to prioritize projects and workflowAbility to work with a high degree of accuracy, under pressure and withfrequent interruptions and changes in prioritiesStrong customer-facing and relationship-building skills; patience andflexibility in interacting with cultural diversityAbility and willingness to travel to manufacturing locations and customersites in the US, Mexico, and ChinaAmphenol Corporation is proud of our reputation as an excellent employer.
