Assisting the surgical team in donning sterile gowns and gloves and maintain sterility throughout the procedure. Prepare and position patients for surgery, ensuring comfort, proper alignment, and safety. Anticipate the surgeon's needs during procedures by passing necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment efficiently and accurately. Maintain a sterile field by adhering to aseptic techniques and monitoring equipment functionality. Assist with patient monitoring, such as checking vital signs and ensuring adequate oxygen supply. Handle and dispose of surgical specimens according to established protocols. Collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and biomedical equipment technicians. Participate in ongoing educational activities to stay updated with advancements in surgical technology and techniques.
