Job Summary:
The Safety Program Manager reports into the Account Manager to ensure ongoing safety and de-escalation training to all contract personnel. The Safety Program Manager will interact with members of local law enforcement, community officials, and branch department personnel. The major responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following duties:
Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop and facilitate ongoing safety and de-escalation training with a focus on mental health awareness and education for all employees of the credit union on a number of facilities in the Sacramento area.
Responsible for the administration of all aspects of physical and psychological safety necessary to protect the employees and assets of the credit union and minimize threats.
Administer, manage, and maintain the physical and psychological safety program, including digital video recorders, alarms, tracking devices, and access control; administer corporate safety policies and procedures including employee and member safety issues.
Provide training and awareness for branch and headquarters personnel regarding proper procedures relevant to de-escalation which includes travel to branches statewide for such training.
Maintain a thorough understanding of state and federal laws and regulations related to credit union compliance appropriate to the position.
Foster a positive and engaging work environment with safety as a top priority for branch and headquarters locations by promoting skill development, coaching for improvement and growth, inspiring others through your words and actions, ensuring positive employee morale the organization.
Review, analyze and take appropriate action on all procedural recommendations for safety, efficiency, and soundness.
Identify, investigate, and respond to member issues and concerns.
Review, recommend and negotiate vendor contracts.
Provide support to Corporate Security Manager and Officers including standard and procedure development, branch risk assessments.
Manage safety related vendors including selection, contract negotiation, placement, and billing reconciliation.
Provide additional security training and awareness for branch and headquarters personnel regarding proper procedures relevant to work place violence, bank robberies or other hostile takeovers which includes travel to branches statewide for such training.
Conducts interviews and investigations relevant to Violence in the Workplace (VWP) issues. Administer corporate policies and procedures concerning violence in the workplace. Assist with internal investigations and inquiries as necessary which include employee theft and misappropriation, compromises of member information and other fraud and criminal matters.
Engage in community led organizations such as Property and Business Improvement Districts to partner in providing a safe environment.

Additional Required Responsibilities:
· Plan and coordinate executive protection operations
· Participate in emergency response actions to facilitate the protection of people, assets and reputation. This includes verbal de-escalation, employment of non-lethal force, deadly force and limited medical treatment
· Manage assigned programs and projects

· Participate in Team meetings as required
· Adhere to Client policies and procedures
· Maintain an expert level of knowledge of current industry terminology
· Maintain knowledge of business conduct, corporate culture, protocols, international customs and courtesies and personal appearance

Required Skills/Abilities:
· Can independently develop reports, spreadsheets, diagrams, charts, graphs, and other products that may be needed. (e.g. – MS Word, Excel, Access, SharePoint)
· An understanding of executive security operations and contracts management
· Understand operational KPIs and ability to utilize data to drive operations.
· Strong interpersonal, critical thinking and time management skills.
· A great communicator that gets the value of teamwork.
· Experience in general office setting in a supervisory role preferred.
· Comfortable in an ever changing, fast paced, sometimes stressful environment.
· Technologically savvy - experienced with MS Office Suite. Working knowledge of technology driven scheduling platforms a plus.
· Project management experience. PMP certification a plus.
· Adept in leading teams in complex problem solving.
· Customer Service orientation required.
· Able to interact in a corporate environment and effectively communicate with all levels of management.
· Must be flexible and possess the ability to meet deadlines in a high tempo environment.
· Excellent time-management, organization and multi-tasking skills required.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science in social work, mental health counseling, Psychology, Ciminal Justice or a related field or equivalent work experience
EXPERIENCE: Five years or more of progressively responsible experience overseeing a safety program with a strong focus on mental health and de-escalation techniques overseeing a financial institution. Knowledge of institution operations, policies, and procedures. Security experience preferred. Physical/Corporate Security/Safety, Executive Protection, or related experience required.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS: Strong oral and written communication skills, leadership skills, knowledge of automated database programs, financial calculators, personal computer and related software, electronic banking equipment, and member relations skills. Proven ability to successfully lead cross functional, enterprise-wide projects. Enthusiasm and interest in safety, security, loss/fraud prevention, and related services; strong sense of ethics and professionalism; communicate effectively in providing safety guidance and expertise to colleagues and the ability to prepare clear and concise written documents. Strong oral and written communication skills; strong organizational and time management skills.
Physical Requirements:
Effective oral and written communication skills required to interpret, resolve, and document safety and related issues, train and evaluate Safety Officers, and perform other related tasks.
Must possess sufficient manual dexterity to skillfully operate an on-line computer terminal and other standard office equipment, such as financial calculators, personal computer, facsimile machine and telephone.
Capacity to manage stressful situations, problem solve quickly and reach appropriate security emergencies.
