Job DescriptionPosition Summary:The Weld Production II (Technician) is an intermediate-level welding role responsible for independently setting up, assembling, tacking, and welding steel components to meet engineering and customer specifications. This position emphasizes efficiency, weld quality, and the ability to work with minimal supervision while supporting overall production goals.Key Responsibilities:Independently set up and perform MIG welding on steel weldmentsAssemble and join parts according to blueprints and weld printsComplete tack and finish welds while maintaining dimensional accuracyPerform part preparation tasks including grinding, deburring, and cleaning weldsSelect and verify proper welding parameters and materialsMonitor weld quality and make adjustments as neededOperate and maintain welding equipment following standard proceduresTroubleshoot minor equipment or process issuesInspect finished parts using basic measuring toolsMaintain organized work areas and equipment cleanlinessDocument production or quality-related notes when requiredContribute to process improvements and efficiency initiativesFollow all safety policies and properly use required PPEQualifications:Previous welding or fabrication experience preferred (typically 2+ years)Proficiency in MIG welding and weld setupAbility to read and interpret blueprints and weld symbolsStrong attention to detail and quality standardsAbility to work independently in a production environmentGood communication and teamwork skillsPhysically capable of standing, lifting, and handling materialsEducation:High school diploma or equivalent preferredWork Environment:Manufacturing environment with exposure to welding equipment, machinery, noise, heat, and metal materials.
