Cable Technician – Structured Cabling / Data Center *Location:* Shepherdsville, KY 40165 *Pay:* $20–$26/hour, W2, depending on experience *Job Type:* Contract – approximately 10 weeks *Schedule:* Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM *Start Date:* Wednesday, September 2, 2026 *No weekends* We are hiring *2 Cable Technicians* for a commercial low-voltage infrastructure project in Shepherdsville, KY. Project Scope Technicians will support the buildout of low-voltage infrastructure at a large distribution center, including: * Installing new *Category 6A data drops* * Building out a new *IDF and fiber backbone* * Migrating CCTV cameras and wireless access points * Removing several hundred abandoned cables across five IDF locations * Installing, terminating, labeling, testing, and certifying structured cabling Responsibilities * Pull, support, terminate, dress, label, and certify Cat 6A cable * Install cable through tray, J-hooks, and overhead warehouse pathways * Build and clean up IDF closets, including racks, patch panels, and cable management * Terminate and test fiber optic backbone connections * Rerun and reterminate CCTV and wireless access point drops * Remove abandoned cabling in accordance with NEC 800.25 * Read and follow prints, SOWs, and cable schedules * Document daily progress with photos, time tracking, and as-built notes * Coordinate with project leadership and other trades * Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment Requirements * Hands-on experience with *commercial structured cabling* * Experience terminating copper cabling, including *jacks, patch panels, and keystones* * Comfortable working from ladders and aerial lifts while following fall-protection requirements * Ability to lift up to *50 lbs.* and perform overhead work * Strong attention to detail and documentation skills * Available for the *full project duration: September 2 through approximately November 13* * Valid driver's license and clean MVR * Must pass a *background check and motor vehicle record review* * Reliable transportation to the Shepherdsville job site * Own basic hand tools and required PPE Preferred Experience * Cat 6A installation and certification * Fiber optic termination and testing * IDF buildouts and rack/patch-panel installation * *Fluke DSX* certification * CCTV and wireless access point installation * Data center, distribution center, warehouse, or large commercial projects Pay: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour Work Location: In person
