To find out more visit www.lenovo.com, and read about the latest news via our StoryHub.ResponsibilitiesAutomation Production Equipment SupportPerform line‑side maintenance for production automation systems (not facilities maintenance).Troubleshoot, repair, and optimize motors, belts, drives, conveyors, sensors, and other core production components.Conduct recovery procedures after equipment faults and restore systems safely and efficiently.PLC ControlsUnderstand PLC ladder logic and perform basic program adjustments or modifications.Confidently enter PLC panels to review, diagnose, and analyze system logic.Work with cross‑functional teams to ensure PLC programs support desired production performance.RoboticsSupport teaching, troubleshooting, and calibration of collaborative robots.Use handheld teach pendants or remote programming methods to safely adjust robot motion paths and locations.Apply safe operation practices including dead‑man switches, manual jogging, and controlled programming environments.General MaintenancePerform standard mechanical and electrical maintenance including component replacements (motors, tubes, drives, belts).Fine‑tune conveyor settings and verify operational parameters.Maintain documentation, perform preventative maintenance, and support continuous improvement initiatives.Cross‑Functional CollaborationWork closely with automation engineers, robotics teams, manufacturing supervisors, and operations leadership.Contribute to hiring, interviews, and skill‑assessment conversations as needed.Support scale‑up of additional automation roles as new phases of hiring are approved.QualificationsBasic Qualifications (Required)Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent hands‑on experience)5+ years of experience supporting production automation systems in a manufacturing environment (not facilities maintenance)Strong troubleshooting experience with motors, conveyors, belts, drives, sensors, and electro‑mechanical systemsWorking knowledge of PLC systems, including ability to read ladder logic and perform basic diagnostics or modificationsExperience safely working within industrial control panels and electrical systemsHands‑on experience supporting or interacting with industrial or collaborative robotics systemsAbility to perform equipment fault recovery, root cause analysis, and system restoration in a production settingSolid understanding of industrial safety practices (LOTO, machine guarding, safe robot operation)Ability to work on‑site in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, including shift or on‑call support as neededPreferred QualificationsExperience with PLC platforms such as Siemens, Allen‑Bradley (Rockwell), or similarHands‑on experience with robot programming, teaching, and calibration using teach pendantsFamiliarity with automation integration, system optimization, and process improvementsExperience fine‑tuning conveyor systems and high‑volume production linesStrong diagnostic skills using HMIs, SCADA systems, or industrial software toolsExperience working in highly automated or advanced manufacturing environments (e.g., automotive, electronics, robotics, fulfillment)Exposure to continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen)Ability to interpret electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and system layoutsWe are an Equal Opportunity Employer and do not discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of race, color, sex, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, status as a veteran, and basis of disability or any federal, state, or local protected class.
