This position will support the accounting department through account reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, cash management activities, and month-end close support.The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and eager to develop professionally within a collaborative environment. This role offers exposure to multiple areas of accounting and finance within the auto loan refinancing industry and provides opportunities for long-term growth.This position is expected to grow in responsibility over time and offers a path into senior accounting roles.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Controller, this position includes:Cash and Banking OperationsPerform bank reconciliationsMonitor cash transactions and investigate variancesAssist with cash forecasting and cash management reportingEnsure accurate recording of banking and loan-related transactionsLoan Portfolio Accounting SupportReconcile loan servicing and funding accountsAssist in tracking loan activity, settlements, and related accounting transactionsSupporting accounting processes related to loan payoffsHelp ensure the accuracy and completement of financial data related to lending operationsAccounts Payable and Accounts Receivable SupportAssist with vendor invoice processing and payment verificationSupport customer billing and collection activities when neededMaintain accurate vendor and customer account recordsResearch and resolve account discrepanciesCompliance and Internal ControlsFollow established accounting policies and proceduresAssist with audit requests and regulatory reporting supportMaintain organized documentation supporting accounting transactionsHelp strengthen internal controls and process complianceProcess ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve accounting processes and workflow efficiencyAssist with system implementations, automation projects, and process enhancementsParticipate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as assigned.QualificationsRequired2-4 years of accounting-related internship/work experienceUnderstanding of accounting and financial reportingStrong attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environmentIntermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skillsPreferredExperience in financial services, lending, banking, or loan servicingExperience with ERP and accounting systemsExperience with account reconciliations and month-end close supportKnowledge of internal controls and audit support processesHighly DesirableGraduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree with at least 24 semesters in accountingFundamental knowledge of US GAAPNetSuite experience a plusIntermediate Excel skillsPublic accounting experience a plusConditions of EmploymentMust have and maintain a valid Colorado Driver’s LicenseMust successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background checkAble to work additional hours outside of a regular schedule during and available on an as needed or emergency basis.
