Human Resource Support Staff The Human Resource Support Staff position provides administrative support to the Human Resources department through employee communication, record management, and daily office tasks. The City of Saginaw is seeking a dependable and motivated candidate with strong organizational and communication skills who is eager to learn, works well in a professional office environment, and demonstrates attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a commitment to supporting employees. This is a part-time position working a maximum of 28 hours per week. This entry-level role is designed for someone who is interested in developing a career in human resources. Major Duties Assist with maintaining employee files and updating information in HR systems. Support recruitment activities by helping schedule interviews and preparing hiring documents. Answer general employee questions and direct inquiries to the appropriate HR staff member. Help organize onboarding materials and assist with new employee orientation activities. Perform administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, scheduling, and preparing reports. Job Requirements High school diploma or GED equivalent. Minimum of one year administrative or clerical experience. Basic knowledge of office procedures and administrative support practices. Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-focused approach. Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and professionally. Experience using Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook. Ability to stay organized, manage multiple tasks, and work effectively within a team. Working Conditions Work EnvironmentWork is primarily performed in an office environment. The noise level is typically moderate (e.g. business office with typing and/or computer printers). Physical DemandsFrequent sitting; occasional standing and walking. Occasional reaching with hands and arms, gross manipulation, and fine manipulation.
