You'll ensure we get the right product, to the right place, at the right time, which keeps our stores exciting and ever-changing. Working in a fast-paced retail business, no day will be the same!Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the planning and coordination of Inbound Transportation flow from Vendors to Distribution Centers and Consolidation points utilizing our Transportation Management System (TMS) for optimal freight considerations.Sources freight to carriers providing cost effective routing and reduced transit times.Evaluates routing solutions, recommends optimal transportation solution and creates optimal freight movements.Evaluates, modifies, and enhances the TMS recommended Inbound solution to ensure optimal load building of freight on a day-to-day basis across major modes of transportation (Truckload, Intermodal, LTL, and limited parcel).Continues to develop Backhaul and Continuous Move opportunities with new carriers and DCs.Assesses carrier capacity and lane performance ratings; evaluates and reports on carrier performance including On-time performance, EDI Compliance, and Acceptance/Decline rates.Partner with Carriers, Vendors, Transportation Managers, and other logistics teams to ensure high levels of operational performance from our carriers and providers and internal partners.Maintains daily contact with Core Carriers and regularly collaborates with internal key partners.Analyze regional financials and KPIs to identify and action trends and opportunities.Partners with Merchandising on high priority freight and special high volume merchandise buys.Required SkillsTransportation Management System (TMS) proficiencyFreight routing and cost optimizationLoad building and freight consolidationCarrier performance evaluation and reportingEDI Compliance knowledgeRegional financial analysisKPI monitoring and trend identificationCarrier capacity assessmentCommunication and collaboration with internal and external partnersBenefitsMedical, Vision, and Dental Insurance Plans401k Retirement FundAbout the ClientOff-Price Apparel and Home Retailer A Fortune 500 company and the leading off-price apparel and home fashion retailer in the U.S. and worldwide.
