Tax Accountant

Job Description A leading firm is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team following tax season. This role will focus on preparing and reviewing tax returns, supporting client engagements, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations.This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in accounting with strong mentorship and advancement potential.Responsibilities:Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and trustsAssist with tax planning and projections for a diverse client baseConduct tax research and stay current on changing tax laws and regulationsWork directly with clients to gather financial information and resolve tax-related inquiriesSupport senior staff and managers on complex tax engagementsAssist with IRS and state tax notices and auditsEnsure timely and accurate filing in compliance with all regulatory requirementsMaintain organized workpapers and documentation in accordance with firm standardsQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field (Master's in Taxation a plus)2+ years of experience in public accounting taxStrong knowledge of federal and state tax regulationsCPA license or progress toward CPA preferredExperience with tax software (e.g., CCH Axcess, ProSystem fx, UltraTax, or similar)Proficiency in Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
