Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.As a member of the Mining Machine Systems Integration team, you lead and coordinate an engineering team to design, develop, integrate, and test machine electronic control systems for use in Large Mining and Off-Highway Truck applications. Your contributions will include supporting updates and improvements for current production models as well as working on projects to develop and integrate the latest electronic architectures and autonomous related technologies onto Caterpillar Rigid Frame Trucks.What You Will DoLead the creation of technical specifications and integration documentation for machine systems using electronic / electrical components, ECM’s and software Work with the machine system and sub-system teams to resolve system design and integration issues during development and productionReport technical status to related Cat Electronics teams in gateway and stakeholder updatesSupport and communicate status of software releases, including documentation required by field follow and/or customers for successfully updating software, wiring and componentsCoordinate software development activities to process partners and product group and ensuring they are completed on scheduleManage test plan development and system/software validation activities Education RequirementBachelor’s degree in an accredited Engineering school in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.Requirements AnalysisWhat Skills You Will Have:Ensures the successful completion of all major activities, tasks and deliverables pertaining to the requirement analysis stageProduces detailed functional and information requirements models and documentationTrains others on requirements walkthroughs and quality reviewTechnical ExcellenceEnsures the hardware and software requirements are met while structuring an embedded systemManages embedded systems ranging from low to high complexity with multiple units and networksDevelops and manages machine control specifications based on product group requirements Fundamental understanding of mobile machine operation, construction equipment and operations Good mechanical aptitude as demonstrated with previous mechanical systems experienceA detailed knowledge of electrical/electronic systems on Caterpillar machines Decision Making And Critical ThinkingIdentifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideasParticipates in documenting data, ideas, players, stakeholders, and processesRecognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes concernsAssists in assessing risks, benefits and consideration of alternativesEffective CommunicationsIntroduces technical terminology to listeners in the context of the product or servicesUses effective analogies to help an audience understand a novel feature of a product or serviceApproaches communication challenges from various angles to find the one that worksTop Candidates Will Also HaveExtensive experience in the development of complex electronic control systemsDetailed knowledge of electrical/electronic systems on Caterpillar machinesExperience with FMEA processes and a basic knowledge of electronic system failure modesAbility to read and utilize a schematic to troubleshoot basic machine wiring issues.Demonstrated leadership, planning and communication skillsDemonstrated customer focus, analysis, and troubleshooting skillsDemonstrated ability to identify needed actions across organizational boundaries and act to resolve issues with minimal oversightAbility to communicate technical information effectively with a diverse groupDemonstrated project planning, oversight and status tracking and reporting skillsAdditional InformationSponsorship is offered for this positionThe location(s) for this position is Mossville, IL, Tucson AZ, Irving TX.Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.This position may require up to 20% travel.Summary Pay Range$147,760.00 - $221,640.00Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
