As a member of our team, you'll have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of patients while enjoying competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and the support of a dedicated clinical team.Required Qualifications: Valid Occupational Therapy Assistant license in compliance with state regulationsCurrent BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)Preferred Qualifications: COTA Certification (NBCOT)Graduate of an accredited program in occupational therapyOccupational Therapy Assistant experience, but New Grads are welcome to applyOther certifications or licenses may be required for this positionSummary: The Occupational Therapy Assistant provides direct, hands-on therapeutic interventions to support patients in regaining or developing skills necessary for daily living. Working under the supervision of a licensed OT, the Occupational Therapy Assistant implements individualized treatment plans, assists with adaptive techniques and equipment, and educates patients and their families on strategies to enhance functional independence.Essential Work Functions: Deliver individualized occupational therapy interventions and treatments in accordance with the established treatment planMaintain and operate adaptive equipment and assistive devices integral to occupational therapy interventionsProvide education to patients and care givers about occupational therapy techniques and strategies for effective self-managementCollaborate with Occupational Therapists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive patient care and ensure continuity of treatmentMonitor patient responses during treatment, accurately documenting outcomes in the medical recordPromptly report findings to the supervising Occupational TherapistProvide care in diverse clinical settings, including hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and community clinics, adapting interventions to meet the specific needs of each environmentAdjust effectively to various clinical settings and evolving patient care needs, demonstrating flexibility in practicePrioritize tasks efficiently to manage multiple patients and responsibilities in a dynamic work environmentMaintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients' comfort needs during therapy sessionsPerform additional duties assigned within scope of practiceRequired Essential Skills: Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to read, write, and communicate in the English languageAbility to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skillsPhysical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bendInterpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalismTechnical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipmentMental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel.
