Beyond its core publishing business, the company also maintains investments, primarily in real estate.Teacher Created Materials offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including:Health, Dental, Vision, Life InsurancePaid Time Off plus Company HolidaysGenerous 401(K) program with MatchGenerous Childcare and Wellness ProgramsPlus more!Location:Huntington Beach, CA OfficePosition Summary:The Real Estate Accountant will perform all necessary bookkeeping activities for multiple entities, including but not limited to: maintaining records, bank accounts, paying bills, making deposits, accounting transactions, reporting, tax preparation, documenting procedures, and performing other duties as requested.Essential Duties/Responsibilities:All bookkeeping duties for the owners' back office real estate investmentsMaintain bank accounts and reconciliations for each entityManage various projects and communication with third partiesProcess and pay monthly bills, including checks and electronic paymentsMonthly Close for accounts and reporting package – P&L, Balance Sheet, etc.Quarterly and Annual analysis, summary, and presentationTax Preparation and payments for each entityMonitor cash flow for each entity and communicate designated requirements Create quarterly projections to share and review with the external CPA firmWork on various other tasks as requiredQualificationsMinimum Qualifications:BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field preferred5-10 years of accounting experience in the real estate industry, family office, or related experienceAdvanced computer skills, including knowledge of QuickBooks and MS ExcelExcellent verbal and interpersonal communication skillsThe ability to demonstrate professionalism, sensitivity, and confidentialityExcellent organizational and time management skillsExperience with short-term and long-term budgeting and forecastingStrong analytical mind, ability to understand complex matters, and present recommendations in a clear mannerAbility to work well with cross-functional groupsExperience presenting to management with confidence and precisionExperience working in a matrix organizational structure with dotted line reportingProven ability to manage a multi-property portfolio (10–20 properties) across mixed commercial and residential assetsDirect experience collaborating with C-suite executivesProficiency with presentation tools (e.g., PowerPoint, Keynote, or similar)Physical Requirements: Sit for extended periods of time; including at a computerOccasional lifting up to 15 lbsRepetitive hand and wrist movements for frequent use of computer keyboard and mouseWork Conditions:General office environment, warehouse environment, home office and client environment Teacher Created Materials (TCM) is an equal opportunity employer and as such, affirms in policy and practice to recruit, hire, train, and promote, in all job classifications without regard to race, color, religion, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability status or status as a protected veteran.
