The Facilitator of Advisory Groups serves as a key facilitator and coordinator for multiple statewide advisory panels, including the Special Education Advisory Panel (SEAP), State Task Forces, Educational Resources for Children with Hearing Loss (ERCHL), the Pennsylvania Advisory Committee on Education of Students who are Blind or Visually Impaired (PACES-BVI) and the Pennsylvania DeafBlind Advisory Committee (PaDBAC). This position provides high-level organizational, communication, and facilitation support to ensure effective collaboration among diverse partners, including educators, families, agency partners, and community representatives. The role requires strong professional skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative and potentially complex environment.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of related experience in administrative, clerical, communications, or office support functions (Associate's degree in a related field preferred but not required).Demonstrated professionalism, including the ability to complete assigned work accurately and efficiently and interact respectfully with staff and partners.Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage complex information, multiple tasks, and competing deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.Strong oral and written communication skills.Experience facilitating meetings, supporting groups, or working with diverse partners.Ability to reframe discussions, manage conflict, and support respectful dialogue among individuals with differing opinions.Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team while supporting multiple staff members.Ability to work under pressure and with frequent interruptions while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.Proficiency with common office technology, including email, word processing, shared calendars, virtual meeting platforms and organization systems, and standard office equipment (copiers, scanners, phone systems).Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace applications.Ability to manage and maintain electronic systems or databases, including registration, tracking, or record-keeping systems.Interest in and aptitude for learning new digital communication and technology tools.Working knowledge of basic digital accessibility practices (e.g., captioning, alternative text, accessible document formatting); familiarity with assistive technologies preferred.Experience working with advisory committees, task forces, collaborative groups, or statewide/multiagency initiatives preferred.Willingness and ability to travel, including occasional overnight stays and evening meetings.Ability to obtain and maintain required clearances, including Pennsylvania State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI clearances.Duties & ResponsibilitiesCoordinate and support the planning, facilitation, and follow-up of statewide advisory panel meetings (virtual, hybrid, and in-person).Prepare meeting agendas, schedules, materials, presentations, and summaries in collaboration with panel leadership and internal teams.Serve as a neutral facilitator to support productive discussions among partners with diverse perspectives.Apply reframing strategies and conflict resolution techniques to manage differing opinions and support consensus-building.Manage multiple timelines, deadlines, and deliverables across several advisory groups simultaneously.Maintain accurate records, meeting notes, attendance logs, and documentation in accordance with state and organizational requirements.Track follow-up actions and ensure timely communication with panel members and partners.Support logistics including travel coordination, meeting space arrangements, accessibility accommodations, and technology needs.Communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of partners through email, written reports, and verbal communication.Draft and edit correspondence, summaries, and informational materials for internal and external audiences.Support and strengthen collaborative partnerships among state agencies, community organizations, advocacy groups, and families.Serve as a point of contact for advisory panel members and assist with questions, onboarding, and engagement.Participate in required travel across Pennsylvania to support meetings and events, including occasional overnight stays.Provide on-site support during meetings, trainings, and conferences as needed.Project a positive and professional image of the IU and its programs and services through courteous interactions and accurate, timely support of communications activities.Perform other related clerical and support duties as assigned.Location:The PaTTAN office is currently located at 333 Technology Dr, Malvern, PA 19355 but will be moving to 2500 Monroe Blvd. Suite 110 Norristown, PA effective June 1st, 2026.Work ScheduleMonday - Friday, 7 hours/day, 12 months (260 - 262 days/year)Pay Rate$30.18/hour - $35.50/hour (PS1)About UsThe Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, a regional educational service agency, provides dynamic, visionary leadership and effective, efficient services for constituent school districts, schools and students.Why Should You Apply?
