As our litigation department continues to grow, we are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal who can help attorneys move cases efficiently from filing through resolution while maintaining excellent organization, communication, and deadline control.Role Description:The Litigation Paralegal will provide hands-on support to attorneys throughout all phases of plaintiff-side personal injury litigation, including suit filing, discovery, depositions, motion practice, mediation, arbitration, trial preparation, and case resolution. This role requires a detail-oriented legal professional who understands litigation deadlines, can manage a high-volume caseload, and can use Filevine as a reliable command center for case activity, documents, deadlines, and attorney task follow-up.The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, calm under pressure, and comfortable communicating with clients, court personnel, medical providers, experts, opposing counsel, and internal teams. This person should not simply process paperwork; they should help keep litigation files moving with clarity, urgency, and accountability.Preferred QualificationsExperience with Illinois court e-filing systems and Cook County court procedures.Experience preparing medical chronologies, damages summaries, discovery deficiency letters, mediation materials, and trial binders.Experience supporting attorneys in high-volume plaintiff personal injury litigation.Comfort working in a hybrid environment after the initial in-office integration period.Experience helping improve litigation workflows, templates, deadlines, or Filevine procedures.Requirements:5+ years of litigation paralegal experience.Plaintiff-side personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred; required if the firm wants a narrower candidate pool.Strong knowledge of litigation procedures, discovery, court deadlines, deposition coordination, mediation preparation, and trial preparation.Experience drafting pleadings, motions, subpoenas, discovery requests, discovery responses, correspondence, and other litigation documents.Experience using Filevine or similar legal case management software.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail, organization, follow-through, and professional judgment.Bachelor’s degree preferred; paralegal certificate or equivalent litigation experience may be considered.What We Offer:Group of employees that treat each other with respect, kindness and careAtmosphere where all employees treat each other with dignityCompetitive pay and benefits packageA collaborative and supportive work environmentProfessional development and mentorship opportunitiesDental InsuranceHealth InsuranceVision InsurancePaid time offRetirement plan that is funded through 401kThe best out-of-office outings Schedule & Work ArrangementsMonday to Friday 8:30AM-5:00PMAdditional overtime may be needed depending on litigation deadlines, trial preparation, and caseload demands.Hybrid remote eligibility after initial in-office integration period, subject to performance, training completion, and firm needs. What Success Looks LikeAttorneys are consistently prepared for deadlines, depositions, hearings, mediation, arbitration, and trial.Litigation files in Filevine are accurate, organized, and updated in real time.Discovery deadlines, court dates, and attorney tasks are tracked and escalated appropriately.Cases move through litigation with fewer delays, fewer missing documents, and clearer accountability.Clients receive timely, professional communication about discovery, depositions, and case progression.Why Walner Law?Through our experience of being a law firm since 1961, we have continuously invested in our employees through executive training and professional growth.
