The Registered Nurse (RN) Clinical Services Manager functions as a member of Open Door Community Health Centers (ODCHC) organizational leadership while supporting site leadership at their assigned clinics. The RN Clinical Services Manager acts as the clinical and administrative supervisor for Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) at their assigned sites. They will physically rotate between their assigned sites based on needs of clinic. The supervision responsibilities include: recruitment, performance management, training and development, and clinical oversight. This position is responsible for working with individual site leadership to ensure patient access and throughput in the clinic, including timely triage, rooming patients, and patient follow-up for their assigned sites. The RN Clinical Services Manager works with the medical providers, site leadership and organization leadership to assure the highest quality care in accordance with Open Door’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Compensation Range:
$131,040.00-$152,170.20
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for recruitment of nursing staff with coordination of site leadership as applicable.
Coordinates with Lead RN, RN Clinical Educator and trainers to develop training plan for new staff they hire.
Responsible for creating or working with other site leadership to create a balanced staffing schedule.
Evaluates and conducts periodic reviews of positions they supervise at the site within designated time frames aligned with ODCHC policies. This includes regularly monitoring visit data and appointment utilization for the nurses they supervise.
Conducts regular chart audits of nurses they supervise to ensure accurate high-quality documentation and correct billing for nurse visits.
Lead and mentor team members by embodying a servant leadership mindset, fostering an environment of accountability, collaboration, and mutual respect to drive collective success.
Develop and implement effective performance management strategies, setting clear, achievable goals, and providing ongoing feedback to enhance team and individual productivity.
Manage and resolve conflicts by effectively coordinating with local site leadership, fostering open communication, and implementing solutions that maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Responsible for communication to the clinical team regarding updated organizational workflows and relevant best practices, which may include; huddles, staff meetings, and written communication.
Provides in-service training and mentoring to employees whom they supervise.
Attends relevant meetings related to Operations, Quality Improvement and Site Management as required.
Responsible for assuring the medication room is in compliance with state and federal guidelines and regulations, includes management of crash cart and fiscally responsible ordering of medication which can be delegated to onsite staff.
Occasionally assists providers with patient care as an RN within BRN regulations during critical staffing situations.
Participates in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of new and ongoing clinical programs and services assuring appropriate resources for the delivery of care.
Actively participates in ODCHC’s Quality Improvement activities and coordinates follow-up on areas requiring attention.
Implements workflows to optimize patient flow and coordination of care within and between health care facilities.
Collaborates with Site Administrator, Site Medical Director, and other ODCHC leadership concerning clinical issues, concerns, and/or problems as they arise.
May function as on-site nurse due to staffing shortages and other operational needs as necessary.
Performs related work and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPECTATIONS:

Ability to exercise sound clinical judgement.
Strong leadership skills and ability to create a positive work environment for clinical staff.
Ability to establish constructive working relationships with all levels of employees with varied and diverse backgrounds.
Demonstrable de-escalation skills and ability to defuse difficult or confrontational situations in a calm, consistent, and equitable manner.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, government regulations, and technical procedures.
Advanced written communication skills and internal email correspondence.
Ability to produce routine reports utilizing web-based applications, electronic health records and data management tools.
Strong public speaking, presentation, and training skills.
Willingness to positively represent ODCHC’s interests in the community and maintain effective working relationships among coworkers, public, private, and professional partners.
Adheres to ODCHC policies and procedures.
Ability to complete all annually required competencies as outlined by ODCHC
Maintains all required credentialing clearance as required by ODCHC.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Two years’ experience in community health nursing
Two to four years of supervisory experience required (in a medical facility preferred)
Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Nursing, healthcare or related field preferred but not required
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Current/Active Registered Nurse License in the state of California
CPR BLS Certification
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: The RN Clinical Services Manager is responsible for clinical and administrative supervision of RNs and LVNs at their assigned sites. Supervision requirements include training and development, annual evaluation, performance improvement, and documenting and communicating disciplinary action.
SUPERVISION AND SUPPORT: The RN Clinical Services Manager is supervised by the Director of Clinical Services.
