This position serves as the implementer of the Integrated Primary Prevention (IPP) Program.The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a Primary Prevention Specialist in a developmental capacity, performing assignments designed to further develop applicable analytical and evaluative skills and techniques. This is a developmental position leading to the full performance position description T0028000. All training must be completed, and regulatory requirements met prior to non-competitive promotion. It collaboratively identifies, implements, and assesses public health-informed and evidence-based prevention policy, practices, programs and processes. Supports healthy climate/culture to eliminate harassment, sexual violence, family violence and self-directed harm using a public health perspective and socio-ecological theoretical lens. This involves an integrated, multi-agency, and collaborative approach with other Wings/Regions, Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ), and local programs with a nexus to integrated primary prevention (IPP) efforts.GS-09: 1. Performs developmental assignments of moderately difficult and complex nature consisting of well-precedented tasks designed to orient the employee in the application of harm and abuse prevention programs and activities. Assignments are combined with training to develop analytical skills and techniques used to resolve issues or problems of a procedural or factual nature. 2. Performs recurring assignments. Independently performs work assignments which gradually increase in difficulty and complexity. 3. Carries out special projects and participates in special initiatives and studies. Performs special assignments in support of the organization; e.g., researching policy and comparing to new or modified guidelines to assess impact; analyzing and providing substantive evaluation of data affecting program operations; developing reports and briefings outlining study findings and recommendations; preparing and coordinating reference papers and documentation to support project initiatives; presenting reports to a variety of audiences; and performing analysis and providing recommendations to resolve issues. 4. Prepares written correspondence and other documentation. Drafts or prepares a variety of documents to include newsletter items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other related documents.GS-11: 1. Serves as the point of contact for harm and abuse prevention programs and activities; provides program coordination and serves as the subject matter expert for the Wing/Region IPP program. Serves as the Primary Prevention Integrator (PPI) managing all aspects of a complex integrated primary prevention program (P3) for the Wing/Region. Serves as the Wing/Region point of contact for the suicide prevention program, workplace and domestic violence programs in a non-clinical primary prevention, here after referred to as prevention, role in coordination with applicable offices and community agencies. 2. Supports inter- and intra-personal violence prevention efforts and programming through the Wing/regional leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. Represents their population's integrated prevention efforts as a member of leadership advisory committees, boards and working groups. 3. Serves as the Wing/Region liaison for local military and civilian agencies to promote timely information exchange, coordinate collaborative prevention efforts, and establish resource links and community partnerships. Incorporates comprehensive strategies to enhance community strengths, address broad-based community needs, suggest community problem solving methods, and forge community connections. Establishes networking, advocacy, and collaboration processes through which to promote IPP to the community. 4. Responsible for developing and overseeing healthy climate, resiliency, risk reduction activities, trainings, and communication campaigns within the Wing/Region. Advises Wing/Region commanders in communicating prevention plans and programs to subordinate units. 5. Recruits, trains, and facilitates military volunteers for prevention activity implementation. Provides technical oversight to service members (DSG/M-Day) within the Wing/Region who are assigned to perform integrated prevention activities at the Unit level.
