DescriptionWe are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Software Engineer to join our development team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in full-stack web development and a strong foundation in building applications on the .NET platform. This role will contribute to developing, enhancing, and supporting internal and customer-facing applications in an Agile environment.The candidate should have experience working with C#/.NET, developing RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web API, and strong proficiency in HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript. Familiarity with source control management and branching strategies is required, with experience in Azure DevOps considered a plus.In addition to core development responsibilities, this role will support special projects, including RFID-based systems for space inventory management. Exposure to or interest in mobile development, particularly in support of RFID technologies, is highly desirable.We are looking for a collaborative team member with strong problem-solving skills who is eager to learn, grow, and contribute to a dynamic software engineering environment.Required Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience)0–2 years of experience in software development (internships, academic projects, or personal projects acceptable)Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patternsExperience with C# and the .NET framework (.NET Core or .NET 5+)Experience developing RESTful APIs using ASP.NET Web APIProficiency in front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript FrameworksFamiliarity with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server) and basic database design conceptsExperience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and branching strategiesBasic understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologiesStrong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skillsEffective written and verbal communication skillsDesired Skills & QualificationsHands-on experience in full-stack web developmentFamiliarity with cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft AzureExperience with Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, boards) or similar CI/CD toolsKnowledge of unit testing frameworks and test-driven development practicesExperience with Entity Framework or other ORM toolsExposure to mobile development (Xamarin, .NET MAUI, or similar)Familiarity with RFID technologies or IoT-based systemsUnderstanding of security best practices in web application developmentEagerness to learn new technologies and grow within a software engineering roleExperience working on cross-functional teams or collaborative development environmentsMust be able to pass a Public Trust background investigation.
