Prepped Learning is seeking a dedicated Executive Functioning Teacher/Academic Coach to provide one-on-one, in-person instruction and coaching of executive function strategies to students in grades 7-12. Prepped Learning is an independent educational therapy practice offering individualized academic coaching and skill building for students of all ages. We’re located in the heart of Falls Church City with easy access to shops, restaurants, parks and the library. Free parking available.
Job Description:
At Prepped Learning we work on building long-term, trusting relationships with individual students. In many cases, students are struggling with ADHD, EF issues and the often related feelings that come with these challenges. We are looking for empathetic, self-motivated, student-centered teachers who have strengths in organization, details and time-management as well as background knowledge in what middle schools/high schools require of students.
The teacher/coach must be comfortable with coaching strategies for high school level math (and all high school level subjects) in order to guide students through higher level math, etc.
The teacher/coach must be familiar with at least some school platforms such as Canvas, Blackboard, Schoology, Google Classroom, etc.
The teacher/coach needs to be organized, detail-oriented and empathetic with students with ADHD/EF needs and anxiety.
Master's degree in Education preferred. Degree in Special Education preferred. Ability to teach through Algebra 1 is preferred.
Contract position; hiring for position extending from February 2026 through June 2027 with option to renew.
One-on-one, in-person instruction with regularly scheduled students.
Hour ranges needed are within office hours of Mondays-Thursdays in the 3:30-7:30 pm time-frames.
Minimum of 2 hours per week, building toward a maximum of 10 hours per week.
Must have at least 3 days available during those time frames on M, T, W or Th.
Some flexibility in determining hours but must be able to keep a regular schedule of sessions once arranged, with only occasional changes
Collaborative team approach. Students' instructional needs, assessment results, educational history and learning goals are discussed collaboratively. Teachers create and implement weekly lesson plans independently according to those aims.
Looking for a candidate with obvious initiative, attention to detail, dedication to student success, and excellent interpersonal skills.
Must attend required once per month Zoom meetings for professional development and team collaboration.
